It's called being naive.

Try having a $1500 Cannondale mountain bike stolen from your garage after they had to saw the leg off of a wooden workbench in order to take it. Or better yet, try having your house broken into and over $1000 in cash taken. That event was only compounded by the fact that at the time, I had a 145 lb Rottweiler who wasn't friendly towards people that he didn't know. Meaning that it was a so-called friend who made the little heist to begin with. I quickly found out he did it after he bragged to a mutual acquaintance about it, who in turn called me up and told me that the dude was laughing about how easy it was.
Yeah, there are many really nice people out there - but there are also a lot of scheming, predatory s that you have to watch out for.
But I am sorry that it took an expensive cell phone for you to learn that. :( |

Well, having been an astute and indefatigable student of both American English and linguistics for over a decade now - I would have to call 'bull' on your part.
Sitting a cell phone down and then turning your back on it in a public restroom is what I would consider to be the epitome of naive. |

I think what Robbie is saying is that Brianna is not person you can label as naive. Yeah it was silly of her to turn her back on her phone in a public restroom but that doesn't make her a naive person as a whole. Everybody does silly in life and you learn from it.....nobody is perfect. You might have been an indefatigable student of both American English and linguistics for over a decade but who are you to judge somebody based apon something like this? That's what I call 'bull.';) |

I never said that she was a naive person, and no, I wasn't judging her either. Yes, I know that she is human and yes, I know that nobody is perfect, but thanks anyway for the tip. Anyhow, just as I make it a point to avoid using sterotypes, I also try my best to refrain from labeling people.
In retrospect, I guess I should have said that in that instance she was being naive, but I mistakenly assumed that most people would understand. I didn't expect that my innocently intentioned post would create such an emotional disturbance amongst your clique.
So okay, you can pull your panties back out of your crotch now. ;) |
