Baseball and cricket would qualify as games.
The strategies of both football (NA style) and soccer are based on war (flanking and what have you)
Swimming is certainly an important skill in anchient combat
tennis = game
cycling I'm unsure of my position with regard to this, certainly bicycles have been important tools of war but I'm not sure if the sport itself has it's roots there. |

motorracing could be considered the modern equivalent. Cycling doesn't exactly have a real long history in the grand scheme of things.
If you've ever seen a game of Aussie rules, the link to war isn't so subtle :p
I think you are maybe a touch too stringent on the classification of sports and games. Some of what you said above I reckon is basically.............. wrong (sorry).

Poker for sure. Ofcourse it did not start in 2005, but its popularity soared! So many of my friends started getting together and playing Texas Holdem this hear. :whip:
They are always asking me to play, but i enjoy SPENDING my money not losing it. Ofcourse there is the other side in which I could win, but I would much rather buy something and have a useful item in the end.
If I wanted an 'experience' I'll go on a trip! |

No need to apologise for disagreeing. As I mentioned in my initial post on the subject, I can't really justify my thinking it is simply how I decide between game and sport. |

k i cant believe people are just noticing pointed shoes...have u people been living in holes in the ground all ur lives??
now if u refer to those "witch shoes" (the ones that extend and point for like 8 more inches beyond the toe), that was big in 2003 adn that was annoying..
what was annoying by poker was that it suddenly got big on TV. yes there were a few poker tourny's shown before but now u have all the "learn from the stars" and all those other shows too. the most annoying part was that the general public went all bonkers over it and everyone started playing it. yea i do play poker on occasion but some people got seriously addicted (not in the gambling sense but addicted to playing it)
what i found annoying in 2005 (some previously mentioned):
- the livestrong and all other bracelets of that nature. If u want to supoprt the cause, go ahead and buy the bracelet for donation but dont go around proclaiming that ur so good cos u donated and "care" by wearing it
- the trend of square tip dress shoes ( i wanted to get a round tip but nooooooo they werent even sold)
- women wearing a long pale (or in most cases white)spandex/cotton t-shirt under another shorter t-shirt..
- the crazy over the new wave of synthpop bands such as franz ferdinand and the likes
- the U2 craze over their last album which sucked major ass |

ok, people. with most heels the toe is pointy. this has been so for decades, as has already been said, and therefore not something i would consider a 2005 trend.
however, in recent years the trend has been for round-toed heels (which i personally love), and flats, whatev. so are you all saying you prefer round toes to pointy? or only hate pointy to the extreme?
i'm fascinated. |

I like Morgan Freeman. He's very believeable in nearly every role I have seen him play. Plus he's got a kick ass voice! |

He is a damn good actor, so I am willing to see what he comes up with. But I think you have a good point, where an actor should try and limit them selves. Quality vs Quantity.
