every year Billabong offers $1000 per foot of the biggest wave ridden all year....
Brad Gerlach just staked his claim to the biggest so far.
caught off the coast of Mexico about two weeks ago... :nervous:

| Zack, im just curious, do you know how they even measure the wave?? I mean, is it basically an estimate like for example in baseball they estimate the amount of feet a home run is if it hits like the scoreboard or soemthing. |

yeah, they measure the height of the face of the wave. I guess they get an estimate of the height of the surfer and then base it around that. |

another category is the "Monster Tube" award....while not as tall as the other one, its definitely heavier, more hollow and more dangerous...
