I know they're widely used, but I love mine.. Sony MDR-V700DJ.

Great sound quality and even my portable cd player can push them decently.

get Sony MDR-V6 (NOT v600!!!) - they go for around $60, known to last forever, and have great sound quality and specs.

Im a bit stapped for cash, so about €100 at the most. :)

Those Beyerdynamic ones are a bit much, but the Sonys are within range :D

FOOLS!

Grado SR-80
95 Bux and best sound for the price.
they take about a week to get the bass in, but once the transducers are stretched out, they're SO warm :D
soundstage is huge and the effective range of the transducers extends quite a few inches out from the cans.
never get closed headphones for listening.

for computer work....get a set of sennheissers

I use AKG K401 headphones for my computer. They have a very nice detailed sound, accurate, and wide open soundstage. A little light on the bass though, and they require alot of power to drive (usually more than a basic soundcard can provide, or a cd player/mp3 player).

These look interesting. Just one question. Do the ear pads fit all over your ear or just sit on your ear? Ones that just sit on there I dont find comfortable for a few hours of use.
DJ Chrono
grados sit on your ear. There arn't a whole lot of headphones that go over your ear completely, but the K-401's are one pair that do. I use them for about 4 or 5 hours a day at work and I've never had any discomfort, cause they sit around your ear and don't apply much pressure. Actually if you're looking for comfort, they are really good.
