by "top djs" we mean top5 in djmag. everyone else's salary is much lower. everything depends on location/night/venue. if it's an open-air or a festival of Gatecrasher/Creamfields proportions, expect 5-digit figures. for a small club with cozy atmosphere, it can go under $10,000 even for tiesto. there was a thread somewhere here, where a club promoter said he had hired tiesto for less than 10k.

plus, he's no longer #1, so expect prices to ease off a little bit, if not to plummet:)

i have spoken to sandra collins about it
she gets 10,000 an hour minimum two hour set
you have to pay for her transportation and hotel and you have to pay her half of it upfront, you also probably have to accomidate her setup. if the lady wants a pioneer cdj 1000 you get the lady a pioneer cdj 1000

that's why she doesn't get any gigs:D... i think it's waaay too bloated for a mediocre dj of her caliber (talking about popularity - which is the deciding point in the offered wages, not skills)

I don't think sandra collins is mediocre in popularity, if you make the top 50 or 60 djs you have done pretty well for yourself
as far as gigs go, she is highly sought after, often at the WMC and other cool events, i think you underestimate her earning power and popularity

I remember reading in mixmag bout a year ago that Dave Pearce gets around 4000 pounds sterling...yes, Dave Pearce!

Buy a 'Best Of Ibiza' cd and rent a clown to jump around the stage and you get the same thing for a whole lot cheaper.

for the big league of jocks, ie Sasha, Oakenfold, Paul Van Dyk, Tiesto, Fatboy Slim

anthing is considered between 5-30K,

Not to forget, first class air tickets, top notch hotels and all the other bollocks that goes with it

Talent and popularity are not the same thing, as DJMag has shown us again and again.

I used to have a big Snadra thing when I was younger, but she has not been that great when I've seen her. The thing is, people new to the music often hear of her name (among others) first, so they go see her.

First of all... there's no way I'd pay her 10,000 an hour unless I were in Japan giving out Yen.

Secondly, if I were her, I'd expand my demands and ask for a Pioneer cdj one million and see how the promoters squirm.
