I know for a fact about this:
Oakenfold played in ATL, GA for $10,000 for 2 hours in late 2000 or early 2001, via Liquified. This was old school, in a warehouse, when the scene in ATL was still underground and fuking awesome (but right about the time it was waning). We were ALL pissed that the tickets cost $20, cause that was the most it had ever cost at the time. And we were pissed that it was only 2 hours. PVD had played in a VERY small club earlier (called NV or New Venue for any ATL's out there) where the tickets were $15 and he was supposed to play for 3 hours but played 4 1/2 hours till 4:30 (you could get away back then for going over the closing time of 4AM, which has recently dropped to 3AM in ATL because of crime). We don't know how much he got paid, but there were certainly not more than 1000 people there. At the end of the night it was only 200 at best. (It was also the best rave, or musical experience for that matter, ever! :) |

| Seeing as how the nightly charge has been covered, I think I remember reading somewhere John Digweed in 2002 pulled in 2 million pounds, dunno if he made more than Charlotte Church though, if you wanna talk about bloated salaries ahha. Digweed though also has a label, signs artists and promotes, has club nights, releases music w/ Nick, and Djs. Even though he pulls in a lotta money, he isn't quite ready to rock the bling yet because 1) He is a decent guy and not a tool, 2) He spends hundreds of pounds at the very least buying vinyl every week so he is more of an investor with his money. Investing in good music to make me happy!!! |

back on nye 2002 i think
oakie played here in nyc and he played at 2 venues one was club exit the other one was capitale
there was an article in the paper and i remember it clearly saying he got 150k per gig
so thats 300k in one night
thats some serious cash for a man who only spins 3 hours per gig |

please dont compare tiesto with dj AM.
tiesto is worldwide while AM is only in the US probably.
its like you comparing soccer the worlds biggest sport with ping pong tournament or something.
i would really like to ask tiesto and armin how much money they are making and what they are doing and willing to do with that much money. |

HAHAHAH
Do you know how clubs work mate ? No one gets that much with the exclusion of one man and that is on very extremeley rare occasions |

| besides, i know how much Oakey gets paid, its not close to that amount, but it is very in rediculous for a man who has only been losing ground for the past 4-5 years |
