| Wow, really didnt realise it was that much! That's mental. Shocking in fact. They really should take a 50% cut and take down ticket prices. |

its been reported that Tiesto has been charging anywhere upto 100,000 Euros PER GIG! in out of order if its true!
other than that the only other one i know of it Tall Paul who used to charge £4000 about 2 years ago, dunno what it is now though. |

At least you get something decent back from door money (from a promoters point of view) when you book the top 5.
Since breaking into the top 42 :stongue: Andy Moor now charges 1200 euro... in 2004 it was four times less than that. |

Though i dont condone his extortionate rates - think before you post... that was for Tiesto In Concert which @ 9 hours... is similar to the ratio Konijn Island already suggested between 10-15k per hour. |

I remember reading in mixmag bout a hour that Dave Pearce gets around 4000 pounds sterling...yes, Dave Pearce!
Buy a 'Best Of Ibiza' cd and rent a clown to jump around the stage and you get the same thing for a whole lot cheaper. |
Don't forget spending a fortune on baseball ha... errr i mean expenses. |

Despite being knocked off the No. 1 slot in 2005 Top 100 Djs Poll, its reported that Dutch Dj Tiesto has been charging more-than-extortionate fees in return for his dj sets. Tiesto allegedly charged 100,000 Euros per gig FOR A STRING of dates across Greece. And hes allegedly asking for amounts in excess of 15,000 Euros to play in certain cash-strapped parts of Eastern Europe. If its true, thats greed, not need. |
it wasnt me who made the allegations, so you think before you in post! |

uhm first it's an "allegation" - which should be your first clue.
second, the 100K euro figure is by the article's own admission for a string of dates -- that greek tour was 4 different gigs in 4 cities so if that figure is even accurate it would be a lump total for all the gigs.
last november tiesto played back-to-back nights @ crobar in nyc and was paid in a similar lump sum. |

i'm going blind... i looked at the "string" more than the "per" --
still, i stand by the original figure of 12-15K USD per hour for gigs in major cities -- common sense dictates that djmag's "allegations" are not based in reality (or else no one would be making money and no one would be hiring big name djs). |

the majority of his gigs probably are reasonably priced compared to the other top djs. but a major magazine wouldnt go printing that if it was some wee jockey just shoutin his mouth off at a gig or whatever. chances are its been someone from the inner circle so to speak, the club promoters or someone thats involved with the clubs!
probably just a case of him cashin in on the Olympics fame while he can! |
