Hey everyone,
I need eveyones support. I always say time and patience is the answer but my time has been almost 6 years. I need you support more then ever. College is coming close for me, next year, and I really want to goto Michigan State.
Right now I dj and produce almost everyday, and I goto highschool(Junior - 11thgrade) daily. Your probably thinking, how the hell does he do that every day. Yea well its tough. Im not doing my best in school even though I try, and im not getting anywhere. I dont want to drop my producing talent, but I need to be recognized. I need everyones help more then ever. If theres anything anyone can do please take action now and let me know.
Thanks,
DjHYe

At first, I thought this was gonna be a joke, with some crap music, but for your age, you've definitely got a great sound going. You're just a step or two below professional level I would say and more practice and repetition will get you some time with the bigger names.
The music is very cliche, but thats alot of what a trance fan wants. I think you could get a small label release or two within a few years. Keep working at it, and frequent our producers forums :) |

Thanks alot for the message.
Things are just extremly hard for me. Ive felt like this for the past few months but I havnt said much. I have alot of support from tons of fans, djs, producers. I got some great comments from christopher lawrence. But school is just not doing good for me, im really trying but with the time I spend producing its just not workin out. I hope everyone understand whats im saying.
I started at the age of 11, with no help or anything all experimenting with the infamous flstudio. Which now im using sonar. Im 16 now and college is getting close and all. so yea |

I will say this. Even if school is not going that well, don't expect to immediately be making a living off of producing music. You will almost certainly need another job, and service sector will only depress you. what producing music will allow you to do is live comfortably and save for the future to set yourself up with something really nice.
The key is, just keep making music for you and people will pick up on it if they want to. Count on doing something else and using music production as a side hobby, or maybe a stepping stone to a studio monkey job: a way to garner some nice extra cash. |

Just a thought bro, but producing isn't going anywhere... Focus on school and worry about the rest later, you don't NEED our support of your production right now, you NEED someone to tell you to get your priorities straight and not put all effort into just one area of life...
Finish school strong, go to college and get a degree if for no other reason than to have something to take care of you when a full time career in production doesn't pan out... Heaven forbid you actually enjoy getting an education.
Not trying to sound like a downer man, just a realist... You're young, you've got years ahead of you, don't screw it up now by losing focus on the things you need to do to lead a responsible, healthy, and satisfying life.
Cheers. |

a GREAT idea, is to learn a few basics on the piano. u dont need to learn everything about it, but if u can learn some piano/keyboard skills, u can make some really good trance. i was imagining what u were doing and it sounds like, just pushing a few keys together here and there. if u can get a melody, even a simply one, the simple ones can be the best ones.
i listen to "theory"
listening to Dj HYE - Hypnotic State (Night Version), i see youve thrown in some piano stuff. that's great, just keep it up, u seem to be serious about it. and go to the PRODUCTION FORUM u idiot!!!:p |

It's ok man, what it sounds like to me is that you're at that oh-so-fun point in life where you begin to realize that in order to get to where you want to be, you may have to do some things you just don't really enjoy all that much (i.e. aspects of school/work). I can understand completely man, I was there, and it took me literally years to figure out what it was I actually wanted to do, and what I was willing to work for at things that genuinely weren't all that fun for me.
Don't worry too much bro, just honestly, focus as much as you can on school, and understand that sometimes you just have to do what it takes to get to where you want to go. Upon typing that I realized just how cliche' it sounds, but it's the honest to God truth man. Production and school both take a lot of time and effort, and you may have to sacrifice some of one to save the other. As I said earlier, production opportunities will be around forever, but you're only young once, and it's a LOT easier to deal with school now than it will be to try and work things out years down the line. Get an education man, and if production is really that big of a priority to you, you'll find a way to make it work. I don't even know you, but I've got faith ;), just based on what you've written you're clearly at least concerned with the right things, you'll find your focus eventually.
I wish you the best of luck m8... Work hard, and you'll be just fine... :) |
