I don't have them too often, but every once in a while I will have a traumatic dream, whether it be really sad, or scary as hell. Usually when I have them, they are hard core and will bother me for days on end.
 |
same here. nightmares are few and far between. i have these traumatic dreams sometimes and they hit pretty hard. i wake up wondering if this really happened and in a cold sweat sometimes.
Sandra, really sorry to hear you have night terrors. Have you tried seeking a medical solution for it? |

I had this creepy ass nightmare when I was a kid - but only when I stayed at my grandparent's in Florida. It was "the Blob" from those old black n' white movies?
It would start really small in a corner of my room and keep getting bigger and bigger until the whole world was being devoured by it. I would be running or biking in front of it until it finally caught up with me - and then I'd wake up.
These days, I don't often remember my nightmares - I just know that something awful woke me up. |

MaxTO, I did research on night terrors and they only seem to happen when people sleep on their backs. Your experience is exactly what a night terror is: being immobile, not being able to speak/scream and having a dark pressence in the room.
Ben, I don't know if there is anything that can help me. I looked into it and it is still not understood to the extent of having a "solution." I will just have to keep fighting my demons myself:nervous:

Read up on a few of Diabolic's threads.
Your nightmares / night terrors won't seem so creepy anymore :) |

I haven't had night terrors, but while laying on my back trying to fall asleep, rarely I will get that "electric jolt" sensation, it seems, just as I'm about to slip into unconsciousness.

Had a scary dream recently that my boss put a really big spider on my lap and it crawled up my leg and into my mouth and I just kept trying to push it out with my tongue... I hate spiders and I woke up screaming!!!!
Before that dream...it had been years since my Fester Addams nightmare...but that's a whole nother paralyzed wake up story...

| Sleep paralysis really sucks. For the people who who get it, you should read up on it. There have been some very interesting papers written on the subject. |
