u think that has something to do with it?

you've missed off the most vital component in this situation, the Power Supply Unit (PSU) details..
Mr.Mystery
How does it die, exactly?

oh yeah sorry... good thing i have that window on the side so i can just read what the label says:P

Super Flower
model no: SF-320TS(320W)
ive had it for like two or three years.. too old?

maybe its bcus i have like eight fans in here?
weymouth
check your ram
dj_alfi
it sits nicely in its place... and when running sisoft sandra it reads 1024, so they (2x512) should be working all right, right?
arturob
too little power supply for p4 3,2ghz

processor could be overheating,,, and this will cause the system to reboot. faulty ram will make the system crash most likely.

well, its been working flawlessly (sp?) for half a year+ now tho...
and as i said, i havent seen the cpu temp go above 60 degrees celsius.. right now its at a normal (?) 51... and its not rebooting.. just turning itself off and i have to manually turn it on...

This link here - http://www.extreme.outervision.com/index.jsp will calculate ur PC wattage consumption. Every rating is for the components max rating, and ur PC wont be using all its components at max rating, but if u use the max it means u wont have a PSU thats weaker than what ur PC needs.

I calculated ur PC between the 300 - 350 mark. Which, if u agree to that, u need a PSU in around the 400 mark. I also dont believe that Super Flower is a quality model, but id have to check that.

My PC draws around 278W according to that link, and i have an Antec True Power 480W, which is a top quality PSU. Mainly for 2 reasons, future room for upgrades or to even reuse in a new PC, but mainly the unwritten rule is u give ur PSU alot of headway between what ur PC draws and its max capability.

See what u get..
