i own 338 vinyl
over 20 cds
hitting the 15000 mark in mp3s now.
planning on deleting about 10000 of those soon getting tired of trax i never even listen to taking up space |

As mentioned before, quality over quantity any day. I pretty much have most of my music from '92 onwards that spans vinyl,cd and tape!!
Can't really quantify how much I have, but I would estimate it to be well over 30,000-40,000 tracks. |

interesting post,
65 gig music on my comp, shed loads of albums, and 400+ vinyl, although vinyls getting too dam expensive now being a student!but the loans just come through so hey, im off to town record shopping!

I started collecting in 2000 or so, and have since accumulated probably around 180 GB of music files in addition to all the CD's I bought. I buy about 5 cd's every year on average and then download alot of livesets.
I mostly collect ameteur music now days, I like when I can meet a musician in a chat room or something and when that person has enough time to sit around and talk to people about their music, and I like it when musicians encourage people to share their stuff the way most ameteurs do.
I have this cd changer that holds 60 cd's and a book that holds about 48 cd's and both of them are almost full. About 3/4 of those cd's are data cd's with 700 or so megs of mp3's on them. I tend to fill up my hard drive with tunes then when I want more I will dump all of them onto cd's to make room(I have a 30 gig hard drive with about 8 reserved for music). I started doing this when I got a cd burner in 2001, alot of those cd's have since stopped working due to age.
I will usually put my cd changer on random and listen when I am doing stuff around the apartment, I don't sit in front of my computer and listen to music much these days anymore because I only have a laptop and it has a ty sound card. |
