Yep i guess Scooter want to be like them.. big musical thieves like the KLF were back then except they were even bigger thieves, stole everything imaginable and hardly ever gave credits to anyone and that's why one of their albums was never officially released because it was filled with unauthorized samples and material. Hail to Kopyright Liberation Front!! :haha:

are you refering to their first album 1987 (What The Is Going On?), . That one was actually released but only available in stores during 5 days. then it was quickly taken back. The reason was that it sampled ABBA's music heavily. Björn and Benny from ABBA demanded it to be taken off the shelves and destroyed.

But most funny is that the CD was re-released after a while but this time without all the stolen samples. Instead of putting in new samples the tunes was kept as they were but without the stolen samples. This resulting in several silent parts in some tunes. With the album came also an instruction guide for the listener how to add the "lost" samples with a sampler by themselves to make the tunes sound as they were meant to from the beginning! :stongue:

HAHA!

That's the one. Oh it was actually released? I have always thought it didn't get an official release and most pressed copies were literally burned soon after. I know the ABBA issue, they didn't just heavily sample ABBA but used a full version of 'Dancing Queen' in a track called 'The Queen And I'. They sampled loads of other artists on the album too but ABBA was the only one who did something about it.
Freak
wasnt just abba.........plenty of people kicked up a fuss. Great stuff

Speaking of Scooter and stolen melodies....

I've always thought that the main harpsichord melody-line in "[SCOOTER!!!11] BACK IN THE UK!!!!1" :wtf: was familiar... Would any one know if they had taken it from somewhere else?

Ratty - Sunrise is one of the reasons I'm here. So in that way, and only in that way, do I show respect to them.

Say what you will about Scooter, but the guitar riff in Fire is genius.

They probably borrowed that from someone too :p
