WHY do you like trance?

Its been about five years since I got into trance and now I sit back and wonder what the hell was I listening to before that, luv this music. Well, yes, we all have our regular cliche reasons of loving trance: Beats, groovy, danceable, the melodies etc. etc.

But lot of other genres have the same to offer as well. So why trance?

I asked one of my friends this question: What do you like about trance so much so that you almost neglect other genres? Most of the tracks don't even have lyrics you could sing along with.....for this question he told me that he does not need the lyrics, he makes up his own in his head and the way he wants it.....Hearing this, we all laughed at him, still do...but when I really think about it, I see the point in what he is trying to say.....

And I am thinking what about this music got me so attached to trance compared to other genres........I saw Armin@Spirit, Nyc last night and the beats are still banging in my head.

I get into a "thinking mode" whenever I am done with a party....may be because of the blast I've had, happiness etc etc.....so I decided to finally throw a thread

So the question is: Why is trance essential to your life? Just looking for perspectives.....:-)

Whilst trance is my favourite, it doesn't mean I neglect other genres, it's silly to do so

I don't like trance, I love it. but not the watered down software-vomit inducing 'trance' that's around today, the stuff from the 1990s up until about 2003 when there were still some good tunes.

I like a lot of (epic, soft, progressive) trance because personally it provides a certain kind of melody that relaxes me and helps me vent and express my emotions. It basically does to me what new age, folk, and classical music does, but has more of a dance edge to it.

There are still great tunes released to this very day.

Maybe you've just reached that age when you can only appreciate the music of years gone by. Happens to all old people. :p

Same with me. I like the older trance much better, since the production quality was better and there were less amateurs.

Why do I like trance: It helps me to get in an euphoric mood, sometimes it makes me relax. Trance is like my personal medicine...
