just admit it...you were gonna say tiga:p
and Kate Mateo is the shiznit but it seems he has fallen off the face of the earth..... |
that's what I thought too, til I saw him on the bill with Speedy j on Feb 17.
Tiga is going to have another huge year in 2006. His music gets remixed so much that his tracks now appeal to all kinds of different DJs and are appearing on a variety of mixed CDs. He is the only EDM DJ out of Montreal that is turning EDM into pop, and he is treading new ground doing it, blurring the lines between pop and electronic.
I like his productions because each one sounds different to me. Krinker, you say Preach's stuff all sounds different, to me it's all very similar. Both Tiga and Preach are over-producing at the moment though.
Fred Everything is both an incredible DJ and producer.
I don't think MB is a great producer but she's had more success as a DJ than anyone else mentioned in this thread...though tiga is up there with her. |

Maybe you haven't heard the most recent Preach releases.. it is true that he has had a lot of tracks out in the last few years, but that's in large part because he is in high demand for his productions and works hard in the studio.
Right now he has a release out on Hydraulix which is definitely harder than his usual fare and a different style IMO. His more commercial type stuff like You Know Hit? (still on the top 3 charts with Juno right now as well.. w00t!) is in its own sector, and then of course he has releases that are a bit more tribally sounding like the first Relic and Intec release. These are all examples of course, but I think he definitely has diversity in his releases, more so than many other techno producers who produce half as much.
His next Intec will have a different sound, as well as the stuff he has produced for Tiesto's label.
I certainly have my share of Preach recs from various labels, like Patterns or Mankind, that don't stand out as having a different 'sound', but overall I see the diversity! |

| You know hit is definitely different than the rest of his productions. I think it's a step in the right direction for him. |

There will be plenty others like that I am sure, they already have the next few releases lined up for that new label.
I don't really like the track, but other remixes like the one for Naughty By Nature would be nice to see pressed. |

| I'm not a big fan of the track either, I just meant it's good that it's different and showcases his ability to produce different sounds. it's easy to get pigeon holed as one sound or another. |
