| quote: | | Promoters have the biggest say when it comes to price, but Tiesto isn’t a robot and he can lower his prices to those of PVD and Sasha and other top DJs. If he wants to know why he is becoming so hated in the dance world it has a lot to do with cost. |
Lower price like what $40 to get into Avalon to see Sasha when he comes here 6 times per year and then pay another $30 to park. Or saying PVD is not about money too like the way he pulled out from the LP because he wasn't getting a cut. Everyone at that point in their carrear is about the money no matter what you think and unless you have been there your self to actually feel what happenes at that level it is really easy just to sit here and talk .
Some people's gold is others garbage and vise versa! |

40$? Where did you buy tickets.
I got mine for 30, and remember n00b, its not JUST Sasha, (who is worth 30 on his own but only imo), its also with James Zabiela, who owns Tiesto in every technical aspect possible.
So its like seeing Sasha or Zabs for 15$.
Pretty reasonable imo. Especially since they know it will sell out. |

Also you realistically are paying about $50 too see him and another $33 to get into the hottest club in south Beach during the busiest night of the the WMC. Maybe that may be a better way of looking at it as it is somewhat true.
Look at it anyway you want really, the place will be slammed with many hot women as well as many true EDM fans as well. Yes I am sure there will be a few muscle head just like at Space with PVD but for anyone to say that it will be nothing but muscle head, people that dont care about EDM, and people that just want to get in because it is the most $$$ place to be is unfair.
It is you opinion but I have mine! |

Was $40 at the door and $30 to park and it was a regular week end to where the same old was going on.
The fact of $83 in South Beach to see an artists that sells the most tickets out of anyone in the world during the busiest time of the year for So Be and not to mention the hottest club in So Be as well to where the artists fills stadiums on his own and now the capacity is only 4000 it is safe to say that they could get more money that $83.
I actually know the second night you can't even buy a ticket as it is invivte only for the clubs actually regualr bottle serive buyers.
Anyway just stating my views as it semms everyone else can, people say that they wouldnt do this or would not do that, trust me I feel the same way about artists that people so much love in here. |

I'm not talking , I'm just pointing out that Tiesto's current trend of charging $100+ for all his shows is going to lead down a bad road for the entire EDM scene.
Sure, it's all about the money for the big DJs, but I'm just pointing out that Tiesto is taking it too EXTREME levels charging what he does for "Just Be" hits.
Hey, if you want to spend $200+ for ticket and drinks to see a DJ spin then be my guest and enjoy the weak crowd of non-EDM fan posers it brings. |

DJ Prices go up depending on the city they're playing at. LA has one, if not, the highest price hike in all of the country. As an example, one time I saw Tiesto in LA for $45, the week before he was in San Diego for only $20.
Normally, I would pay up to $50 to see a DJ, but that's cutting it too much. Actually, the time I saw Sasha & Digweed together at Delta Heavy in LA, I only paid $35.
$83 for Tiesto is WAY TOO MUCH!!!!
Oh yeah, another reason why DJ prices go way up is because they employ many people like Managers, PR Agencies, Producers, etc. All those people are the ones that indirectly give the DJ it's image. Someone has to pay them and it's usually the DJ. Perfect example is Sasha. He has a team of people dedicated to mastering all his tracks and preparing them for Ableton Live! That team of people then uploads the finished track to a server and Sasha downloads it from wherever he's at in the world.

I'm not surprised by the price to get in and see Tiesto
He has been selling out stadiums to see him, at prices about the same per ticket for this night. The price to see him at one of South Beach's hottest clubs during the WMC will no doubt be massivly expensive. If I was his manager I'd be charging as much as I could.
But I personally wouldnt even spend $5 to see Tiesto :p |

tiesto can charge 100 dollars a ticket and sell out a stadium. i can understand why someone would say he 'sucks' BUT you gotta give him credit. he's not a dumb guy at all. he knows he's a marketing tool and he's taking full advantage. you can't blame the guy. he might not be the best dj in terms of technique, but there's a lot more to dj'ing than just beatmatching.
ps- i had fun at tiesto in concert  |

Also the reason for this was the fact that I think Clear Channel was invloved and massive sponsorship helped the fact of the ticket price. You better belive they didn't charge the fact for a $35 ticket cause the artists played for cheaper. What I also heard was this tour was costly and lost a load of money as well. This is maybe why it hasnt happend again.
Sponsoship helps the situation out alot in determining the price of a ticket especially big events such as Coachella or others. If there was no sponsoship dollars I can promise you that the ticket price would go up as I have been there before.
Plus if you go Mansion any night of the week or week end where there is no body playing and it is a decent night you are paying $30 to get in anway. So is Tiesto worth $83 for people that actually like his music and for people that actually want to be in the best club in So Be during the busiest time of the year and being the only show that he is doing to the public...........my point still stands. |
