Nope! He said it in an interview. You can only imagine the houndreds of tracks they get and to skim through them is a bitch. I get tons of promos and I don't even have time to listen to all of them.

Do you all really think it would be $75 to see him at a club in Miami during a non-WMC week?

Oh come on...for reaaaaaaaallll.

I don't know how much he costs the days, but at one point during Tiesto's second year as the #1 DJ, PvD was still more expensive than him in tons of US markets. Not by much, but yeah...apparently.

DJs more expensive in LA....OK, compared to San Francisco I wouldn't doubt it, but for some of the most expensive DJs (ie. Tiesto & PvD), their LA sets have been considerably longer in LA than in SF. Tiesto and PvD for the longest time were strictly two hour sets in SF. Once those two hours were up, they were gone. PvD finally played a three hour set here in SF last September -- can't remember the last time that happened. PvD/Tiesto sets in LA have always typically been at least 3 or 4 hours. Maybe that's why the tickets are more expensive down there. Although, PvD has usually played on weekday nights in LA and not weekends making him cheaper to book down there.

And neither have been as expensive as Oakey was during his peak time. Not nearly as expensive. Not even close.

Yup at lot of that ticket price is determined due to that time of year and Mansion being the best club in South Beach. Example last year there was 2 of us that went to Mynt to see Oakie play and it was $40 each to get in. Same with Danny T it was also $40 to get in. Also Space if you show up the night of the event is about $40 to $50 to get in and maybe more if you do not want to wait. There will be no wating for Tiesto at Mansion as it will sell out so they are probabbly cutting to the case and getting it done and over with.

South beach's high season is almost at an end once WMC is over and they know pretty soon that they will not get alot of vacationers untill the fall and need to take advantage of everything the can, prime example of Hotels being $400 or more a night to where they are noramlly $200. Everything seems to double during March.

Also even though PVD is #1 he isnt #1 at selling actual tickets which certainly comes into play when you are a club owner/promoter or who ever is trying to make the night happen.

Either way I am sure everyone that pays the $75 to get will not think it is alot and I am sure people will have just as good of a time as someone paying $20 to see their favorite artist next door. It is all a matter of tase if you ask me as when you want something you usually end up going the extra mile.

It's true, one of the guys at DJ Culture has a friend that does that for him. I want to meet that fool and grab some tracks :p

Digweed and Danny Tenaglia was only $40 for both a few weeks ago in San Francisco

how is this relevant to the WCM during the busiest time of the year and the most popular club almost in the nation?

Just makes no sense at all really.
