definatly not. however how i worded this question could tempt people to respond with such a statement. i was merely listing illicit drug use as a sign so people wouldnt be smaralecky and say "drugs" |

yikes, what could have possibly prompted you to ask this question?
One would first say that being a clubber means you have to go out to clubs regularly, perhaps more often than monthly. I imagine the word "clubber" changes definition depending on who uses it, because there are many different kinds of places that people refer to as "clubs".
A club could be like a civic community service type thing, or a social lodge type thing, a place for professional networking, for gambling, for sitting in front of a stage with a band, for dancing to all types of music.
My picture of a clubber is a young adult who for some reason has more than an average amount of money to spend, goes out every week to those really ornate expensive parties, travels alot, is a whore for fashion and the image of being "cool". I feel like a clubber is a person who wants to be trendy and does so by forking alot of money for the latest clothes/cars/exclusive parties, and honestly doesn't have a passion for music but more a passion for feeling popular and cool, part of that may mean doing some drugs on occasion. All clubs are different though and they all attract different crowds, but for the most part I find that the large succesful clubs are full of big egos, trend-whores, overpriced drinks, huge lines, and a guy at the door who only lets in "beautiful" people.
I bet this kinda thing really depends on where in the world you are, it may have regional definitions. |

thanks unworldly for taking some time, i appreciate it.
im doing a persuasive speech on electronic dance music haha, for college. i had an idea on how to dive into this, but i wanted some feedback on the subject. |

i don't know about anybody else, but when i used to go to parties there was a very distinctive difference between clubbers, ravers, candy kids, and junglists etc.
most of the time clubbers went to the fancy dancy clubs and got drunk off $20 drinks, will all the party kids (ravers, junglists & b-boys, candy kids) mingled at the same parties, just in different rooms depending on who was spinning and what was being spun etc...
at least thats how it was in the ATL back when we had a rave scene, now its just all a club scene and i could care less to be a part of it. i'm not going to dress up like i'm going to a job interview in clothes i can't even dance in so see some of atlanta's tiest dj's like mike b |
