Am I the only one who is embarassed for the people dancing when I am watching video clips from various trance events from around the world? Like seriously, I am not starting this thread to bash people or a country. I am just trying to study the various dance forms all over the world. There seems to be no flow or rhythm. I show my friends these vids and they laugh because the dancing is silly. And it is. Its sure not a sexy form of dancing. I dunno, I guess this is maybe why I am getting more into the housey stuff. Cause the dancers seem to be better at house events. To me, it looks like there are a bunch of people throwing there hands and legs in different directions without any direction.
Let me know what you view on this is.
PS: If thats how you feel the music then thats awesome. I have been guilty of the arm raise too. But i dunno, I dont think I could do that same dance through a entire 8 hour event. |

Around here it doesn't matter whether you look cool or not while dancing but have a good time on the floor.. without a single care for what others think of your dancing skills.
It should be about everyone having fun as they can anyway, not mocking others for dancing how they like. Personally i couldn't care less how i dance or how others dance as long as someone fills the floor. :stongue: |

First I'm not sure what you mean, because the topic states europeans, but in your thread you talk about video clips from around the world. Did you watch a load of videos from around the world and came to the conclusion that europeans are the worst dancers? And all of a sudden you talk about house-events. You need to clarify your questions.
I see a decent share of good dancers when I go out clubbing, but haven't been around europe enough to have an opinion about it. There seems to be a lot of people here on TA that has the "who cares how stupid I look as long as I'm having fun"-opinion, which probably means they can't dance at all ;) |

Yeh i know and i'm not saying i'm the greatest dancer but i have been told by numerous people i know my mooooves when it comes to taking over the floor... dunno how true that is tho. All'n'all does it really matter? Do you go to a club just to check how other people dance? If so, more recommendable place for that would be the pro dance contests you can go to watch. Or do you go to a club actually for the music and atmosphere? Or something else perhaps?
You people take clubbing too seriously. :tongue2 |

Look, I am not a person who takes clubbing seriously. Trust me! I love the whole EDM scene cause dancing doesnt really matter. As long as everyone is having fun then thats all that matters. I knew what I wrote would get twisted into me being the "anti fun clubber".
I just think its really weird that Europeans have taking so much liking to the european jig while other places aroud the world have much more rhythm and flow to their dancing. I think dancing is when you let the music move you. If doing that dancing is what makes you move, then thats cool, however, it is hard for me to understand how that dancing is replicating the music when the dancing is not in sink with the music. |

haha, i can sort of see what unwordly was on about now, clubs in the US caring more about what people look like/how cool they look while dancing, as opposed to everyone being there to enjoy themselves plain & simple ;)
not saying every US club is like that but still. i find the thought of caring how you dance in a club pretty silly, to be honest! |

| Really, this is a lot like saying Americans are less smart than Europeans. In a lot of threads on many forums, the idiots of the discussion tend to be American. But of course- there are loads of very smart Americans out there too. You can't generally say "Europeans are worse dancers than Americans", just as you can't say that "Americans aren't very smart"- because it simply isn't true. |
