We were in southwestern Iowa, near Bedford, IA. August 26th,2005. our synoptic prof even let us ditch class to chase. we were in a HyVee parking lot. it was sweet.
we missed the touchdown by about 5 minutes. we were on the wrong side and ended up having to run away from that cell. ugh. |

Yeah I drove on that chase. We were out for 11 days and didnt see one touchdown, because there were no touchdowns to see. Well, I take that back, I think there was a tornado one of the days we were out but we werent on the right storm. Anyways, dont get me wrong. It was a great cap-lesson for all the n00bs. Plus, we got to see some really awesome storm structure, which to me is JUST as interesting. |
My friend Kara Houlihan was on that too, i think. [ i can't remember if she did that w/ valpo or College of Dupage :(].
ironically enough, during that same time was when i was up in Minnesota and saw my 1st tornado ever. it was sweet. i screamed like a little school girl. good times. |
