For now I'm gonna invest in some average cables because I'm just hooking up a Vestax PCV-275 to my computer through the 1/8 stereo outputs on the soundcard, so due to the hardware I'm running, cables won't make a difference at all.
But like I said, when I get some CDJ's, I'm gonna pick up some Monster RCA cables to go from mixer to decks. |

Don't use RCAs
They are not balanced.
Use 1/4" TRS if your mixer has it (good ones do)
Or XLRs...
RCAs are . |

| Didn't the guy just before say to avoid RCA's and use TRS or XLR, obviously XLR won't work from what I see, but TRS? |

I like tiesto
I dislike monster cables for 2 reasons, firstly i dont care if they have great technologys and patents, they mean all at the frequencies we can hear, sure they are beter built than other cables but i'm not willing to pay 10 times the price when there will be no audiable differance. Any reasonable cable will do just fine
Secondly i dont like the they pulled when they started suing people over the "Monster" name. Having worked there you probably know more about this than me, care to share your thoughts? |

Umm, if youve got more dollars than sense, by all means pay the 50 bucks for Monster cables. HOWEVER: there is no conclusive proof that $50 cables actually sound better than the cheap-o cables. I'm sorry, kids, but cables (in short lengths) really have no bearing on the sound quality. Now, maybe the cables are built better, the wire won't crap out on you as quickly, lifetime warranty, blah blah... but that says nothing for the sound quality. Because, well, its the same.
And gold-plating is a nice gimmick, might reduce corrosion, but again, it has NO effect on sound quality.
Thanks everyone who realizes this already. |

Whoever said get extra length cables is not realy thinking straight.
You want your cables as short as possible because the longer the length of audio cable the more interference and more quality loss there will be.
Dont run cables near other cables when possible. |
