cause right now i'm really into lee's current sound. i always have been, to be honest. no matter what the guy spins its always 1 step ahead of everybody else and he's always managed to play some of the most twisted, funky beats out there. i wouldn't necessarily call his current style full-on techno though; its more like minimal/tech-house, with a dose of deepness thrown in for good measure.
and i hope he plays a lot of the same stuff he's been playing in his recent sets (eg. the set you posted; or the one i posted from The Cave in Sydney; or the WMC mix). That is sex to my ears. |
Oh that is the kind of stuff I love to hear!! That is techno, pretty minimal actaully, a lot of techno is tribally and funky like that, and it's my favorite kind. That's the stuff I hear every single weekend come through Detroit, it's our poison down here for sure. You should definitely make it to Detroit for the music fest at the end of May, Paxahau is doing it and they are the world leaders when it comes to bringing in the best talent. You come to that, and you'll hear that very sound you just descibed as sex to your ears bouncing off every building in the city and rolling out over the river......seriously.
I agree fully about Lee, he is an electronic genius, very versitle too. Thanks for posting the cave set, that put a nasty little grin on my face. I'm ing pumped to see him in Toronto with whatever style he wants to rock for the night! I'll see you on the dancefloor! |

| Nice to finally see some Burridge love around here :D I can't believe he's only playing 2 hours though. He should get Sander's slot imo, lol |

any idea what the 2nd last track (50min) in that set is Jon? sounds much like one of his own productions |

I never saw that post dude (still can't see it actually, hah, it must be way back there). If you're talking about a Burridge set, there is no way I'd know the ID.
As you can see, I didn't even know he produced!? (of course I assumed as much) |

Ok...here's Nic Fanciulli's set from the Ultra Music Festival on March 25, 2006 in Miami. This should hold you guys over until BnB in Montreal.;)

P.S. I definitely consider Carl Cox 100% house music still. He's tech-house and I have been listening to several new sets from WMC's Ultra Music Festival 8. Danny Howells, Nic Fanciulli and Carl Cox have played several of the same hot tracks in the time span of 8 hours.
Labelling genres is a very sticky and touchy topic. It's just en damn good music!!! :toocool: |
Hey, man...Thanks a lot for this bangin' set. I can't wait to hear Nic play at the Bal en Blanc in Montreal this weekend. |
