Err, so if I dislike a track I'm being "way too serious"?

No, that's what ruins the scene. Loyalty.
Too many people don't rate tracks but refuse to criticise them openly because of some stupid loyalty to the artist - "oh they made [song] five years ago, so they must be good producers, let's not worry about this poor effort."
If they make a crap track it deserves to be slated.
Then hopefully they won't do it again. |

unimaginative, formulatic, utter crap. the tune features lyrics that lead nowhere and add nothing to the track, and the track itself is a mixture of simplistic beats that we've heard in earlier G&D productions. the breakdown isn't any better and the synths that follow the breakdown can be described as little more than a mish-mash of Nintendo-game sounds.
one of the worst tracks of the year :whip: |

No they aren't. True musicians write tracks that appeal to themselves. Music is art, and art is personal expression. G&D have the right to make whatever they please, but ultimately we're the ones paying to hear it, so we have every right to voice our opinions on it. They're making their own music, and they're earning a lot of money from it. So don't try and deflect criticism by saying "think of all they've done for us". |

Everyone seems to hate this track on boards, but in clubs when it comes on the whole place goes nuts (including peeps who don't even know it's their track).
So while a lot of us may not really like it, the reaction it gets in clubs says that, overall, they did what they set out to do with the track.
I think the track is OK. |

So baisically, while artistically zilch, it has sing along status at clubs...well of course it does...its pop music. |

Because I've only just heard it. It's not as if I've repeatedly slammed the track in many threads. And if I pay for a mix album or to see a jock, and they drop this track... I am paying G&D. It isn't direct purchasing of singles and albums which keeps them in money (else most trance producers would be paupers these days). It's the support of the scene and DJs. |
