I see your point and agree with you that 1 hour set times normally break up the flow of evenings, however I dont see that happening here. If you look at the lineup its mostly all trance and prog. Its not like the genres are going to be switching every hour to something else, that would drive me mad as well. Its quite possible the flow of music at this event will be much smoother than at your normal event with 1 hour sets due to the fact the djs are all close friends and aquaintences from ETN. I dont think the promoter of this was trying for a "more is better" approach but rather to accomadate the djs and all involved in coming together to make this event happen. |

I think that's great too man, honestly. And Mike (Elevation) knows how I feel too (sorted via pm). I really do think this is a solid showcase for new talent, I just think it's unfortunate that people have to settle for one hour sets from some of these DJ's. And as far as the flow of the evening goes, I definitely see your point in that yes, these guys are all cut from a similar mold, however I've been to more than one event like this (Lots of DJ's/Similar Genre) that was very similar and while all the DJ's played AMAZING sets, it just felt like the mood changed so much from set to set, and just as each DJ seemed to find his groove another was just about to hit the decks. I actually had a long conversation with KT about this a couple months back at a show in Minneapolis where we were both basically discussing how hard it is to work in the confines of an hour.
Make no mistake, the music for this night will be unreal, I never said otherwise. And I'm beyond stoked to see what ETN has put together, especially since most of these guys have been the soundtrack to my working life for the last year. Unfortunately, in my opinion, these events just have a hard time maintaining the kind of pace and flow that I personally enjoy in an evening.
I do genuinely hope that everyone who heads out to this event has a wonderful time, and as I said repeatedly before, the talent on the roster is definitely deep.
And make no mistake, even though I most likely won't be able to attend, I will certainly be looking forward to reviews/downloading the sets from this night :) |

The 'stop bickering' comment was directed at you too - because - there was nothing wrong with DJ RJT's initial comments which is why I wanted to restore the thread to see what it was you were all up and on about re: this thread

Funny how you look at her reply implying that I'm on her side - the thread was restored from the backup because I'm not one to go around deleting posts/threads because certain ppl don't agree with the opinions expressed.
Now, enough of this...I almost wish I never went to the trouble of restoring the thread, it wasn't worth it. |

| Damn people. Why is it so bad for someone to have a discenting opinion. So the guy doesn't like 1 hour sets.... I'm with him on that unless all the DJs are on the same page. Regardless of whether or not you agree with him he has a right to express his thoughts on the format, there's no need to shout him down. |
