Cat keeps scratching all the furniture, alternative to getting rid of her?

| Any suggestions? I heard that pet land have those thingys (no idea what they are called) that cats scratch and it'll take their mind of real furniture. does that work? or should i just get heir claws removed? |

| I agree with the spraying thing everytime she scratches the furniture. But you should also get a scratching post and rub it down with catnip. |

De-clawing a cat seems a little cruel, don't you think? You should certainly invest in a suitable scratching post and have her spayed if she hasn't been already. I don't know if you ever saw the 'Cat Orgy' episode of South Park, but damn. You don't want that. Also, like Jackson says, spraying the cat with water when it does a naughty is supposed to be effective.
By the way, I completely realise the irony of saying that de-clawing a cat is cruel but spraying one with water and having it spayed is a good idea. |

There is something called Bitter Apple that repels cats from alot of things.
It's mainly used for biting and chewing, but I imagine that it would be effective at stopping your cat from scratching your furniture as well. Just spray it on the places where your cat scratches the most.
It worked for my cats when they were biting and scratching our dining room furniture. They don't even go into that room anymore! |
