when i heard the promo rip i thought it was . weird sounds all over the place make it sound too complicated and not what i would expect from holden. maybe i should take a second listen to it. i havent heard it in a set so maybe i should. oh well

Anyway, I think Holden's vocal mix is amazing... the original was ok but Holden really takes it to another level. I just hope I can buy a proper 320kbps mp3 from somewhere when it's officially out.. |

Have never seen any DM remixes for sale digitally.. so might be wishful thinking. |

Yeah, I know... damn annoying. iTunes might sell them but there's no way I'm buying those files. Too bad Holden mixes are not included in any of those Suffer Well cd singles either. Not fair.. :( |

love it! it's so atmospheric, the vocals sound amazing, bass is sick.
the dub mix is pretty cool too, great drums. whoever said it sounds out of sync, lol, obviously it's intentional to give it a more human and/or ed up feel |

If theres one thing I have always noticed about Holden iis the way he gives electronic music such a natural and organic feeling as Estella said. Hes really in a league of his own. |

Isn't there some proper term for what he's doing in the track? I guess I mean isn't the "out of synch" feel just a particular kind of rhymic device?
I thought there was a name for it, but clearly my knowledge of proper terms in relation to music theory is lacking... |

yeah obviously it was intentional, i still think it sounds like ass, though. i could intentionally distort the out of all intsruments in a tune to give it a 'rough, ed up' feel but it would still sound wank & distorted :p
each to their own though. i actually think the vocal mix is ed up & rough enough, the dub just goes OTT with it. |

yeah there is, "ketamine house".. (that would be a genre i guess)
i didn't like this, i've only heard it once and it could be one of those tracks that grows on you. i haven't heard much of his other stuff so i'll believe you when you say he's a great producer.
my problem is that whenever DM asks someone to remix something for them, i get the feeling the remixers try too hard to be different, only because it's DM. they're trying to be innovative and different but forget to do something that actually works.
gonna listen to it again (and probably change my mind completely about it).. |
