interesting you say you're sick of stupidity, when your part of it.
i mean seriously, bring up something other then my mother when trying to counteract my opinions. It's quite old now. (and yes, haw haw, so is she). |
ok, we'll make this a PDD thread then shall we?
you havent stated your opinions anywhere near thoroughly enough to justify an adequate response. lets see what youve said shall we? (you havent answered any of my *serious* responses either btw ;))

the commonwealth games is something different, and something special and just something out of the ordinary to get involved in |
what exactly the does this mean? different? what is and how? different from football on the weekends, or different from the olympics? yes, very different from the olympics becoz its a SECOND RATE competition. this is the main reason i dont like it. i couldnt give two s about which australian managed to beat *insert tiny unheard of nation here* in the 50m freestyle. why do aussies get off on beating into submission countries that dont have anywhere near the opportunities, funding or historical success of ours? *yawns* its like getting liverpool over here to beat sydney FC.

it may not be as big as the real deal, but still worth being excited about. Use this opportunity to break out of the clubs or recovery sessions and maybe try something new.... |
ill ask again, WHY is it worth being excited about? so the big kids can feel successful in beating up the little ones? wheres the excitement when the quality of the competition is lacking? excitement comes from struggle, not from victory. i get annoyed at all the parochial bull that comes with the competition, and it seems inane to get all pumped up about it.
if 1 of the tv channels is gonna screen sport crap i dont like for 2 weeks, id at least like there to be some sort of contest involved, rather than 2-3 big nations and a bunch i couldnt give two s about getting thrashed by the big 2-3.
ive been nice enough not to reprimand you for your spelling & grammar mistakes. but i do apologise for trivialising this great & entertaining sporting event tuned into by dozens of people by making fun of your mother.

It didnt occur to me until yesterday that the queen came to visit the colony to view her games.
Someone needs to do something nasty to her like replace her poodles with blood thirsty dingoes. |

lmao! but please, no flippant responses. soups will get angry. it shows a sincere lack of respect for the games and the incredibly important institution of big B grade events. hang on a minute soups- you didnt get asked to play at the opening ceremony did you? that at least would explain your love for the games :p |

i wasnt trancey enough for them, and we all know uplifting trance is the future of music.. so i think they've chosen someone else.
im not saying we should bow to the power of this elite competition. Yes most of the countries will get wiped out early, but i dont think they really care, and neither should we.. As tripe as it sounds, there is the whole element of competing and harmony and all that the games represents (ideally).
Unfortunately some members of the indians team may have taken the harmony aspect a bit too far. :D
just sick of people rubbishing something which is actually quite a big deal and won't come around again for some time.
and i dont launch into big 2 or 3 page arguments about because i do have work to do during the hours of 8 and 6. |

hi jadeasdlfark;)
Even though I believe we should be a republic, the Commonwealth Games only goes for 2 weeks ya sooky la la's. Its good that Melbourne gets some 'good' attention from other nations + benefits from tourism, etc. Plus this is a good starting point for many aspiring atheletes to gain some attention & make a name for themselves.
