anyone else do this besides me?
my first car was a 1967 mustang fastback.
took me the better part of a decade, but it's a 100 point restoration.
i just bought a 66 coupe for $1000, and want to drop a new engine in it.
however, i'm torn if i should find an older engine and rebuild it, or buy a new repoduction.
i only have a few grand to spend on the engine. |

I got this old junk for free from a lot near my uncles way out in the boonies.

I had to invest about $2000 into it & about 2 months of having my friend work on it, but in the end it turned out pretty good.
Most of the conversion parts i found cheap on the internet.
Heres an after picture.

| my uncles do this in their spare time. one of the cars was a '73 trans-am with a 454. another one they did was a '67 vette. it was bought for $16,000 and it got appraised for over $50,000. |

Eleanor was a Ford GT.
Yet another thread where people pretend to know about cars, but really, they don't know . |

I'll admit, haven't seen the movie since it came out. I remembered the GT half of GT500, couldn't remember what it looked like. I apologize. |

GT is just the title that Shelby gave it after the souped it up.
basically, all Shelby was was a 3rd party souper-upper.
the bought factory mustangs, souped them both cosmetically and performance wise, and sold them again.
they never really made that many of them, but they are ing sweet cars. |

I know what Shelby is and what the GT500 is. I just thought it was Ford's supercar, the Ford GT. |
