Actually the GT350 came first then the GT500, the GT500 being the most popular because of the movie. However if you really wanted a Mustang then the baddest was the 1968 Mustang 428 CJ Fastback. Long considered the fastest ....these were supposed to have 550+HP.

......my first car was a 67 Mustang also. It had the original 289 Powerpack but some idiot decided to bore it out into a 302 before i got it.

yeah, but they only produced like 8k of them, and only a handful are registered in operational condition.

I know what Shelby is and what the GT500 is. I just thought it was Ford's supercar, the Ford GT.

do you even know what the GT looks like?

first off, the new Ford GT is styled and modeled after the origional 1968 Ford GT40 Mark IV, a limited build Le Mans race car that was a co product between Caroll Shelby (the man behind Shelby automotive) and the Ford Racing Design team. This car looks nothing like a mustang....

The 1968 Mark IV GT40

the 2005 Ford GT

-i got to drive this one....this pic was taken at work, head office sent one up for us to evaluate.... and by evaluate they really meant drive the snot out of / break every traffic law in the book with...

well apart from teh fact taht that your statement had nothing whatsoever to do with enferno's statement, although the cobra jets are great cars, id take a boss 429 or boss 351 anyday. infact there is a 99 cobra body running around detroit lately with manufacturer plates on it, that has a boss 351 decal on the truck, and its packing a prototype stretch aluminum cobra block..... standard 5.4L cobra block with two extra cannons added on, creating an all aluminum V-10 351ci displacement and its 60 lbs lighter than the the 5.4L Cobra block. the car is silver so if your in teh detroit area and you see a silver cobra going way too fast.... your probably seeing that prototype....

Do you know how to read? I said I hadn't remembered the movie as I hadn't seen it since it first came out, and I just remembered the GT part of the car's name.

Comprehension, people, comprehension.

That kind of car is absolutely pointless to chop or sup. Stock that car has 397hp, if you can find the 425 hemi you can pull over 400hp. I wouldnt get it for glam or anything of the sort, its just for personal pleasure. Women have their bags and shoes and jewelery... Guys, we have our rolex watches and cars or bikes.

colonelcrisp
ahem - hemi is dodge.....

nothing says love like a big ol 454..... and the only thing sexier than a properly restored stock, is a properly restored stock, with a roots supercharger sticking out of the hood, big fat hoosiers for the rear, pink fuzzy dice hanging from the mirror, and a pool ball shifter.... droool
