| Any idea where i would take one? It only costs $400, so obviously i'm not about to pay $80/hr for someone to work on it for a few hours. |

If the LCD itself is cracked, then yes - it is garbage.
But 90% of the time, when an LCD is dead it's the power inverter or the ribbon cable that connects it to the graphics processor.
I've replaced both the inverter and ribbon cable on my IBM ThinkPad and it is a PITA to do. |

Yes but he didnt say dead.
In a classic d!abolic moment he left no info on whats actually wrong. Or what the LCD is connected to. For all we know the thing could have dead pixels splattered along the screen.
I would not pay $80 an hour to fix a $400 monitor. |

| Hard to describe. Do you guys know what inerlacing is? When only every second line is displayed? Well, it's a little like that. Half the lines are displayed fine, the other are constantly blinking. |

Ah, that can be fixed but it's a matter of cost.
You have to find out how much the labour and parts will be then decide. |
