| I think it's kinda lame he named the CD "Los Angeles". Come on Tiesto...lol, he already made Magik 7 Live in Los Angeles. Call it California or something...or just leave it at ISOS5. Whatever, it's just a name but it's not an original one. |

Because you acted like one, saying "I approve of his taste in music no matter what!!" that really came across as a DJ Worshipper, and those people need to cool it down and quit acting like teeny boppers. Tiesto isn't god, he isn't even that great of a DJ or a producer, he's just been hyped like you wouldn't believe. I used to be a big Tiesto fan, until I saw him get too big, and his ego exploded. |
Wait let me get this right, you stoped liking one of your favorite DJ's because he got famous? And being famous made his ego get big?
I've never understood this mentality, you here people say similar things about bands and its completely assinine on the fans part. This is a job for these people, and while they do enjoy the music aspect of this BUSINESS, they have to pay the bills. So dont hate on someone for being famous and even getting an ego from it, the fans gave him/them the ego blame yourselves.
BTW I'm no tiesto fanboi, I couldnt name a tracklist on a single ISOS, but I've been on this board close to 6 years now and its pure comedy watching people hype the next dj, he gets famous and then no one here likes him... |

I'm not saying "Tiesto sucks" really from this stand point. I'm just saying he's been over hyped. It's not him getting super famous for the reason I dislike him, it's statements he's made over the years, his attitude, his so so productions, the fact he hardly produces his own stuff, and his mixing which has been quite poor, esp for a supposed professional. I don't think he's as "great" as people make him out to be, thats what I was trying to say, and that by someone making this statement about liking his music no matter what, to me, makes someone out to be like they worship the DJ just because he's the DJ, without any regard to his actual ability or what he plays. It's a "title" thing.
I don't care about someone being famous, they can be as famous as they want, but there are plenty of DJs who are not as famous as Tiesto, and are more talented then he is. He's just an overrated music player. And the ego, no one can deny from the way he acted after he got to be the number 1 DJ in DJ Mag that his ego didn't get big, and I happen to get disatisfied with DJs who do have this ego. But I will give Tiesto the benefit of the doubt and give ISOS 5 a chance, but he's still not as god-like as people make him out to be...no DJ is... |

| I understand they need to make money and it's a business, but then it's no different then in pop music, it's about money right and not the actual talent right?? Getting too big doesn't mean getting too famous. Fame is fine, but fame can turn people into ego-maniacs who think they are the best and better than all the rest and make them have elevated self-images. Britney Spears was famous, she made lots of money, did she have any talent?? not really, other than choreographed dancing. This is the way i've seen Tiesto in the past few years as, someone who makes big money, is famous, but I haven't seen that much talent... |

| ^ Britney has talent too. You're one of these self appointed "talent scouts", aren't you? What is "talent" to you? I think it's sad when people try to define what is and what isn't talent and who has it or who doesn't have it. I can tell you that Britney didn't sell 50 million CDs just because of her flawless dancing. She's got the total package. She can sing, dance, and put on an amazing show. She's a preformer...and a damn good one. And this thread has nothing to do with Britney. The only thing she and Tiesto have in common is that a ton of people like both of them. Too bad the same can't be said for you. So, shut the up. |

Well guess what? I've heard better mixing from dj's that I think deserve the equal level of popularity.
And Britney Spears can STFU... |

Britney Spears and talent? What an oxymoron. Uh I'm not one of these self appointed "talent scouts", Talent is the ability to sing! Britney doesn't need this great ability to sing because she's a performer. She's not a musician, not a song writer, she just dances, sings songs people write for her and then the voice is digitzed so it sounds "musical". I give her credit for being a good dancer and a good performer, but not talent as far as singing goes. Tiesto I give credit for making trance a little bit more popular then it was (which is either a good or bad thing), for putting together some great sets in the past (and ISOS 5 might be good..) and playing some decent tunes. I also give him credit for trying something a little different with the "Concert" thing. But he still is NOT as talented as many other DJs and producers out there, most of his "productions" other people do for him or he just helps with but he doesn't produce on his own, and this has been since the beginning. He's had some decent remixes on his own, and some really bad ones.
I don't HATE Tiesto, I don't think he's got NO talent, just like Britney, I just see them as performers who don't have as much talent as others who might not be as big as they are. There's many other better producers who do stuff on their own, and who can mix better, and even put a set together better. Tiesto is just overrated, overhyped, just like Britney was when she was popular...and still is to a degree. They are just seen as more "performers" to me, then genuine talents, and thats fine, but one shouldn't let the performers over rule the talents. One shouldn't worship them either and think they can do no wrong. After all, they are just human beings with their own insecurities. That doesn't mean though, we have to love them as performers. |

| Tiesto and Titney apologists, almost as bad as the idol worshippers if not worse. |

This is like a sick twisted combination of the effing ~*Chicks*~ thread and Arcadia's lame-o ISOS posts.

| This CD actually might be pretty good. I am listening to some of the samples, I like what I hear so far. Hopefully the mixing will be better then ISOS 4's, that was just appalling for a "professional" DJ, mixing doesn't have to 100% spot on all the time..doesn't have to be perfect, but some of that was just horrible.. |

I'd hate if the EDM became popular all over the world. As in a daily thing that goes on everywhere. |

Yeah thats why I noted that it's either a good thing or bad thing. Popularitiy is fine, as long as it doesn't dilute it and turn it teeny bopperish or cheapish..cheesy. Trance can still be popular, and a bit "accessible" but that doesn't mean making it absolute cheese...
I don't always equate accessiblility with cheese, although that is sometimes the case...trance in it's early forms that some people really love, that wouldn't go well with the public, trance would still be very underground if it were like that...so I think some popularity is good, some is bad...depends on what you do with it. |
