i think pretty much everyone has/has had this problem. some people make better friends, some people make better buddies, and some people make great both :) you just gotta understand that you're going to have people in your life that fit into all three of those groups.
just be honest, if you are sweet and upfront, i don't know what girl wouldn't want to hear it. if it's meant to be, it's meant to be. it'll happen for everyone eventually...look around at all the weirdo's that have found people. YOU CAN DO ITTTTTTTTTTTTTT [all nite long!] :p |

what makes a guy a jerk? or a girl a bitch?
i'd have to say the overriding thing that makes someone a jerk / bitch is that they care about themselves more than the people around them, including their "significant others". what does that convey to the opposite?
1. both women and men are attracted to confidence. whether it's a fake confidence meant to hide true insecurity or genuine full of selfness, bitches and jerks are going to exert more of it...sometimes in excess compared to normal people.
2. men and women both like the chase. it's natural to want something that you can't have and when it comes to people you're dating, it's rational to assume that since bitches are jerks are mostly self-involved that they are going to more unattainable and therefore more desireable.
3. men and women both want excitement. everyday life can be monotonous and what people want is to escape it's boring cycle. people for that reason are looking for other people to help them break out of the routine. most often people with stronger personalities (i.e. bitches and jerks due to their inflated self-worth) are going to give of a sense of excitement and so until people realize the true nature of bitches and jerks, they are drawn to them.
now where do nice guys and girls come in?
the overriding thing that makes someone nice whether it's a guy or a girl is that they actually do care about others. they are curtious and giving, something that is easily taken advantage of. these people have the same desires as everyone else and so they tend to be attracted also to confidence and strong personalities. the bad thing is when these people get caught up in attraction with an bitch or jerk. all they want is acceptance and affection from that person so they do all that they can to attempt to get it, but because bitches and jerks only care about themselves they take what the other person is offering, but never give anything back to the relationship.
as for bitches dating jerks?
well that's not going to happen as often as you might think because they are both struggling for control of the other and realise that they can't have what they want. they want to be the most important and you can't be if the other person considers themself the most important. |

i think you have in your mind that nice guys = these kind of perfect creatures that are nice yet very confident, with good social skills, perfectly mentally balanced, fairly attractive and with safe defined plans for their future. i don't think there's many of these out there.

Yeah, always depends on the person. I think over-all theres alot more people going out with who they just think they're supposed to. Not much experimenting, until kids get out of high school and college. Among the 21+ crowd I notice people can either be MUCH more open minded, or MUCH more superficial. Depending. |

that's the other thing about nice guys / nice girls...
they are emotionally needy. they don't feel that same over inflated self-worth that bitches and s do so they seek reassurance from those around them. even when they do find someone nice to be with...the fact that they are so insecure with themselves that they can't give that other person those things they are looking for. |
