That is IMO lack of proper supervision and leadership in your company's part. I don't mean supervising meaning ensuring work gets done, but also ensuring proper workload is given to employees for reasonable amount of time to complete them in and if it's not being done, steps being taken to fix the problem. |
I completely agree.. Just saying high expectations of work completion or greater accountability is fairly difficult given inadequate resources, which seem to have become more of a norm. |

i have two girls at my work who just cant shut up!
spoiled little princess they are... parents told them to work… so instead of nagging for money to their parents they nag in work about how they have to do typical work like folding clothes at the end of night or just sweeping, or that their 3 hour shifts are too long WTF?!
Other people who bother me at work is how you littlery have to take them by the hand and tell them time after time what to do next…
Ex
“Ryan here are your tasks for the day : box hangers, move mannequins, fill bags, and replenish”
wot does Ryan do
does the mannequins, comes back eats, goes back down the aisle and sits there because he forgot wot he has to do next… and wont ask.. and wot the best part is … after awhile my manger even WROTE down the tasks… so instead of actually reading what to doo.. he would re write it!

I have learned you can not complain about the work ethic of employees in certian fields. Fast food is the first one. With such low unemployement most idiots who want a job have one. In general fast food related jobs tend to be the first place people with no skills look for work and can actually get it. I appologize to anyone here who works in fast food, you may be the exeption (beleive me I REALLY appriciate good, competent fast food workers!).
There are a few other fields like that too. they may be nice people but usually the motivated ones excel beyond basic jobs. Although there are also people in higher jobs that seem pretty unmotived aswell which I question how they made it far. |

| Yup, it's just natural to complain. At the moment we are working 6 days 10 hrs/day at my work. Most guys are complaining that they have no time off. When we work 5 days a week they are all complaining that they aren't getting any OT and aren't making enough money. I hate getting out of my bed for work regardless. Complaining about it just makes it worse. |

I worked at a place for a year, and because I actually worked my ass off hardcore everyday, I got promoted upstairs, in the air conditioned part, doing work that needed to be exact, but wasnt physical and pure chill, perfect for me. All the people downstairs were pissed, cause some were there for like 10 years and nothing. Well maybe if you stopped complaining and bitching 24_7, and not walking around bitching, you would be where I was!
It actually made me happy to see them pissed off, cause finally I got back at them hardcore, and I didnt have to speak my mind to do it lol!! When your dealing with people bitching 24_7 every single day, it eats away at you sometimes. I'm not a bad person that wants to pee people off, but in this situation they deserved it, so they can all screw off. I ended up leaving the place for another job, then 4 months later the place closed down cause they were moving to the states lol! gotta love it.
Most places I worked, the people that screwed around, everyone else was pissed at them, and eventually they got talked to by the boss or fired, except for the place I talked about above. Thats why I liked jobs where I get to work by myself or pretty much by myself. This way you dont have to deal with peoples all day long, makes the day go faster, and makes work more enjoyable, depending on what work your doing of course. |

| well at my work we all have quotas for the day. if you finish your work then go ahead and do what you want. you cant really get away with being lazy. i think thats the way it should be. |

I don't know how you people can have a desk job and sit all day in front of a comp, I would fall asleep. I work in a shop run by German's. You should be lucky that you can talk to people cuz if I go to talk to someone that's not about work I'd get yelled at saying that I'm too slow and give me the whole German efficiency speech. Talking is for break and outside of work.
But at least I love my job.:D |

Building a good atmosphere at work is needed in order for people to enjoy coming to work. And if it takes people socializing at work, then let people socialize, unless it affects the amount and quality of the work.

The universe is essentially lazy. Even electrons will naturally seek to use the least amount of energy possible, which is why their natural orbit is as close to the proton as possible without falling into it. Energy is a valuable commodity, almost every living thing endevors to expend as little of it as possible in completing it's required tasks. |
Wicked scientific proof.

Some even post on TA from work. Imagine that. :tongue3 |
And what is wrong with that. When my work that I need to get done is done then whats the harm? Would it not be better than sitting around complaing that there is nothing to do?

I work with Union people... there's a select few who screw the pooch, do as little as possible, are late, and quite frankly, incompetent.
And impossible to get rid of.
Infuriating.
I feel ya, sistah! |
+ 1... thats pretty much the entire banquets and concession staff... as well as some of the kitchen staff @ the MTCC |
