i remember seeing an interview with a house dj who was about 45 a few years ago (can't remember who it was) and he said he didn't really like the music he played, he only choose tunes that he thought the 'kids' would like (yeah, he did use that term!).

i was wondering if anybody knows of a dj that doesn't particulary like the style they play or only play a certain style because they think that it works in a club?

I wouldn't be surprised if it was true actually

I'm sure there are a lot, but they never admit for fear of losing popularity. If the DJ doesn't like the tunes hes playing... what makes you like the tunes hes playing?!! :nervous:

blatantly Oakenfold, you can see he's not interested.

also reckon Lisa Lashes, she keeps trying to branch out to breaks/electro but knows that she can make more money through hard house

I've you've seen him in the last couple years it is. Last time I saw hime he didn't even make an attempt at beat matching for his entire set. 2 hours worth of massive trainwrecks. It was classic. He had this constipated look on his face the whole time too.

I remember idoru telling me about a show in seattle in which he left the booth for 10 minutes, let the track playing stop... and eventually come back and just put a record on. :nervous:
