It was the usual Armin stuff. Nothing exciting imo. I'm not into that kind of trance anymore anyway. I do like that Sander Van Doorn remix of Control Freak however

usual = GOOD will do nicely. as long as it isn't like what ive been reading about his show during WMC.

Armin's last 2 visits to Boston have been the best i've heard him since Spirit way back in November 04. He seems like he enjoys Boston very much. With the 2 hours he has, he skips all the build up fluff and plays bomb tracks one after another. I've had a blast, hopefully I can make it to his July shows, 3 days after my 24th b-day, i'm getting so old.

i went to an armin show about a month ago and his tracklist really hadn't changed since about 2004. if you haven't seen armin in the past few years, you aren't missing much.

(except his cute butt) ;)

usual = lackluster trance (I used to like his track selection till early 2004) and it was the weakest night I've been to all spring/winter musically for me

Hellloooo darling! how are you? Haven't spoken to you in a while.

Did you see Armin in DC? i'm not sure what he spun there but his 2 recent tracklists from Boston are all fairly new tracks he's been playing on ASOT.

Armin Van Buuren ft Nadia Ali - Who Is Watching (Tonedepth Rmx)
Armin Van Buuren - Control Freak (Sander Van Doorn Remix)
Re:Locate - Rogue
Kyau vs. Albert - Walk Down (KvA Club Mix)
Gabriel & Dresden - Sydney
Mr. Sam ft Kirsty Hawkshaw - Insight (Aira Force Remix)
Sunlounger - White Sand (DJ Shah's Original Mix)
Enmass - CQ (Randy Boyer vs Kristina Sky Remix) *My request*
Interstate - Remember Me (Terry Bones Remix)
Coldplay - Talk (Junkie XL Remix)
Guissepe Ottavani - Linking People
Karen Overton - Your Loving Arms (Original Mix)
Mark Otten - So Serene (Menno De Jong Fierce Dub)
Jon O'Bir & Gareth Emergy - No Way Back
Ronski Speed - Incognition
Fable - Above
Nic Chaghall - Monday Bar
Arctic Quest - Renaissance
Fragile - Shugyo
David Amo & Julio Navas - Electronic Electro
Substate - Horizon
Nico Parisi vs. Erik Hubo - Metro
Rank 1 - Topgear

Besides Topgear, So Serene...everything else is fairly new and has never been played at avalon boston until that nite. A lot of these tracks were absolute bombs. Hearing Metro, Your loving arms, Monday bar, whitesand and Talk all live was crazy. I know you and Pat are huge house fans but as far as trance goes, this stuff is awesome.

hey my dear! well, armin isn't THAT bad...i mean, he was one of my first favorite trance djs. but, i am just a house junkie now- so my tastes have definitely changed.

the good thing is i can go to ANY event and have a good time. i went to paul oakenfold about a month ago (oh, the shame) and had a blast.

some people get too caught up on the technical aspect of things, but i definitely know how to enjoy myself to any genre.

how are things with you, my love! how's life in beantown? :D

I'm a house dj but I do know trance. I just don't care for what's out there and I don't think Armin's set came close to his set from 10/4/03 or 5/28/04. I had more fun at Ferry Corsten

:)

no i agree, I enjoy all types of edm. I mean, trance is my favorite, that's why I have so much fun when a trance DJ comes to Boston, it's so rare. I was pretty pumped to see Ferry and Armin within 2 weeks of each other! But for me, if I have the right people with me, i'll have a good time regardless.

Boston is alright, the weather is awful right now, it's raining. Went to G & D about 3 weeks back at RISE, that was a good time but i've been taking it easy lately. I'm trying to get out of Boston, i'm seriously considering a move to nyc in September. Just trying to find a job, then an apartment :)

i def. appreciated seeing him live, but he wasn't my favorite of all the nights though...
