Just thought I'd make a thread 'cause I can't think of a single one that doesn't realize the dominance of Mac. :p

Im considering a MAC laptop since the new patch came out that allows you to run windows on a mac + a mac OS which is great :)
What so much greater about mac then about PC? |

yeah .. i m thinking of getting a mac laptop to.. also for the reason that it allows u to install and run a windows OS and also a MAc os .. plus u will have the style and beauty of a MAC laptop
plus they have alot of good music programs usually installed in MAc or compatible with MAc hardware. |

Apple provides powerful computing performance with the PowerPC G4 processor with Velocity Engine, which is a specialized vector processing unit that uses SIMD (single instruction, multiple data) technology to accelerate data processing. Software programs that use vector processing typically transform large sets of data as they edit an image or render a video e∂ect. For example, when a filter is used to apply a motion blur to an image, each pixel of the image must be changed according to the same set of instructions. This is a highly repetitive processing task, which the Velocity Engine accelerates by modifying the image in large, 128-bit sections. Since the Velocity Engine is a separate processing unit, it can work on one processor-intensive task while the other functional units in the processor are crunching other data.
Bluntly, this means that a larger proportion of CPU power is redirected towards your programs that require more juice, compared to that of other programs running. But that's for the Powerbook. The new line of Mac laptops use Intel Core Duo processors, which are supposed to be up to 4 times faster than the PowerPC processors.The thing about the Core Duo is that some programs are not compaitable with the Core Duo architecture. I don't know any others, but I'm sure FS2 isn't the only program that is not compaitable with them...a buddy of mine recently purchased FS2 only to find out it doesn't work, due to an error that prevents completion of installation. Might wanna read up more on that before you shell out 2 g's for a shiny new MacBook Pro...

I started on a Mac but when when i bought my first comp with my own cash I went PC...it just worked better because I could use the programs my friends have...now I have like $10k worth of programs on my comp for free..
My friend came over and loaded a bunch of stuff that his work comp has...he works on the new blu-ray stuff so its industry standard .. |

Pirated because its been uploaded to my comp...but his company paid for it.
BTW Im not trying to brag...because I know you can DL it anywhere. Im just saying our comp dont conflict and we can share programs.. |

| I run a PC running SSL live and I've used it in the club before. I actually run a partition that has never connected to the internet running mac OSX 10.4.5 when I'm live, but rest assured I do not have extra money to waste so it is a DELL. |

I dont see whats so wrong with windows.
Iv never had a problem using either of my PC laptops (excluding when i was trying to run other things like messengers or internet browsers)
Well if you dont count the noise thing. But thats can happen with any lappy. |
