And if you really wanted to talk politics, you could have easily put this in PDD and asked them why/why not they think flags such as the one you like sparks any form of discontent.

No, you brought a political discussion to something that was about flags, not politics. You said that the south is synonymous with Nazi Germany and I disagreed. When I suggested that we not talk about politics because we aren't going to agree about anything you declined to name your favorite flags and said I had an agenda. Seems by throwing around claims of racism and refusing to take part in the thread you showed that you had no intention in taking part in the thread as it was intended.

I don't want to argue with you Mr demoted because it will make us all just look silly! So can we please just name some more favourite flags, and forget about what happened two centuries ago, and indeed 30 minutes ago (in this thread)? Here, I'll start:

Polish flag, simple but elegant.

No, it is a symbol of the Southern states. They did indeed have slavery at one time, but so did much of the rest of the world. The world has come on much since those days, the south included, but apparently you have not.

None of this has anything to do with the flag, or to do with the good things about the Southern culture.

:wtf:  i don't know many other countries that still have such racist/homophobic views as the U.S. still does. many southern states (not all) need to fast forward into 2006 and snap into reality. Losing the ignorant, overly-religious, and conservative attitude wouldn't hurt either. if the south had won, i fear that we'd be EVEN more worse off and stupid s like george w. bush (and senior) would have been running the country for the past 200 years instead of the past 20.

You can't tell me that you weren't being intentionally vague on your first post: posting a flag that has a rather large negative connotation and sentiments of racism and slavery and then stating that it "represents the best time in American history".

I mean come on, you're either being intentionally vague, or you are that mentally retarded to provide self-detrimental forethought upon yourself.

The world would be a much better place if Bowser had won.

Well I'm about to break that stereotype! I am educated, barely religious, left-wing liberal and very much not racist. I like the Southern culture for the food amongst other things. If I have any political message it is that I would like to reclaim the flag from the extremists but for the most part I am happy to be unpolitical and just talk about what flags I like!

I wouldn't say it was intentionally vague, more like foolishly. Knowing what I do about this forum (which is not too much), I could have given more explanation into my choice, to avoid any problems.
