yea i agree... if u got an apple then i highly doubt that would happen... i got a pc at the moment but i'm replacing it soon and im def gettin a mac... i'm sick of my piece of laptop... it's 3.2ghz w/ 1.2gb of ram w/ a 7200rpm hard drive and the thing is still a piece of garbage

thats very unfortunate man, ctrl+s is your friend, are you sure you didnt save it at all to begin with? if so that is exactly why ableton did not do a crash recovery. look in the folder ableton defaults its saves to and see if there are any goofily named .als files floating around before giving up hope.

ableton has never crashed on me, ever.

i have a pc with an EXTREMELY ed registry right now (from me ing with it so much) and ableton is not even bothered with it.

oh and dont buy into the whole "if i had a mac this wouldnt happen" bull
apparats mac crashed twice live at smartbar last week
i crash the macs in my protools class nearly every week from the stoopidest little things.

We'll be crossing our fingers hoping that this get's recovered after all. Otherwise definitely rerecord the same tracklist w/o any changes!

I am not naive to the fact that the macs have their issues also...

I was just being funny with the comment :)

i couldnt justify spending $3700 on a laptop that i could get the same specs on from dell for around $1600

but thats just me

Toshiba M55 Satellite. As Mr. Jarrell here has already mentioned, I couldn't justify the price difference between a PC and Mac, especially since I had to pay for this out of pocket after my last one was stolen and uninsured. I'd never had this happen to me at any point before so I really don't know why it happened, since Ableton has always been very stable for me. Ah well, live and learn, and make sure to save before rendering :)

I'm gonna redo it later after class I think, now that I'm not so pissed off anymore :p

lol noub!

I think I'm gonna do a 3+ hour ableton set. Just get stoned and see where I go...now that I can EQ with the x-session :D
