lol.. honestly. you guys are arguing with a 17 year old (almost 18!!!) who's never been out of his town. let him grow up a lil, let him travel the world, maybe he'll grow out of the ignorance that his parents bestowed upon him.
i myself was lucky, born a minority (only in the u.s. :D) , traveled everywhere, seen crazy poverty, the effects of capitalism; the works. my parents gave me a very worldly and accepting view on life. even now i live in new york city, one of the most diverse cities in the world. but my POINT is that not everyone gets a chance to experience what a lot of us have. their parents mold them. their peers mold them. their one horse town molds them. their biased fox news (dare i even call it a news station?) molds them. if this kid is still saying the same thing after his 20's then perhaps he wasn't not bright enough to absorb what this world has to offer.
one of the most surprising things i've ever heard was from a close friend of mine. i had known her since middle school and i remember in my senior year of high school we were talking about african americans for some reason or another, and she told me she hated them. i was shocked simply because she's korean, a minority herself. later i found out she was also freaked out by gays. my friend was born and raised in nj. never traveled in her life. even up or down the east coast. her whole life was growing up in a white suburban town, and thats all she knew. now that made me think of all the rest of those suburban towns in other states that aren't even as liberal minded as nj. its really a sad situation. most of america is just a breeding ground for hate, bigotry, discrimination. thankfully my friend's views have changed after she began attending college.
the thing that sickens me about america is that i am constantly reminded that discrmination and hate is still there, yet we always praise ourselves for being tolerant. the only difference between 2006 and 1950 is that its now "politically incorrect" to talk about that in public. i hope in the future when america becomes less of a superpower. more of our people will learn to deal with situations that are not "normal" and accept it. as tiesto14 said, "normal is subjective". |

even though I could care less about gays cuz one thing Ive learned is they have this superpower known as GayDar which lets them no that im not gay so they dont hit on me and stuff. Im not really homophobic but I dont have problems with ppl that are either.
I think alot of you are beating up on Kapedan for no reason; remember this is the USA where your free to have your own ideas and thoughts on certain issues. Alot of you who came in here to question him and say that he is young and doesnt know enough to make statements like that are acting like he should change. If everyone changed the way others would want them too it wouldnt be quite free now would it. Thats one of the things that makes America great |

i respectfully disagree, a free world with free thought and expression is indeed a good thing. No one is saying kapedan should be jailed for his beliefs, furthermore i even support the right for grouple like the KKK to march and spew their hate because the rights of the minority, no matter how few need to be protected. But that doesnt mean we have to take it quietly, just as they have a right to march, protesters have a right to demonstrate on the other side of the street. this is especially true on a message board which exist solely for talking, debating etc.
although kapedan would "rather have 10 kids that have 2 guys sucking each others dicks" (which isnt mutually exclusive by the way, you can have 10 kids AND those 2 guys can suck each others dicks) his opinion shouldnt count more than anyone else's. i, like groundhog, am a firm believer in libertarian principles, live and let live. the world would be a much better place if more people cared more about their own ty lives than trying to tell everyone else how to live theirs. the truth is we're not debating facts, kapedan might be right and homosexuality is a sin and gays are going to hell, or i could be right and there are much higher ways to judge the morality of someones life, were they a good and decent person, did they treat others kindly, how did this person live their life in the day to day. |
