i want free, easy, internet lessons. "ultimate-guitar.com" is too hard to understand what i want to learn.
i want somthing like
step one: place guitar in hands.
step two: take pick
step three: place fingers here , here and here. that makes a "X" chord.
etc. |

images that show you where to place your fingers on a fret. its useful if you cant figure a song out yourself, but otherwise stupid.
now, the highest sounding string is E. then going up, its B G (haha g-string) D A and low E.

putting your finger down on the first fret of any string continues that line. and there are no spaces between BC and EF. so the first fret of an E string will be F, then F#, then G etc...
and a chord has certain fingerings because theres a certain cirlce used to determine how many sharps or flats are in a chord

my gf says the guitar sucks, and i have to push down too hard on the strings before it touches the fret...could i use solder to maybe make the frets a little higher? or would that be a bad idea.
it's a cheap guitar, like $200, my buddy gave it to me because he hates it... |

you push down harder on any acoustic or classical guitar. electrics are easy. do you have nylon strings?
and learn to press down. real guitar players have callouses ;) |

| go to a guitar shop and tell them you want the action faster, they will lower the strings closer to the fret. |

if you know how to read music well you probably can pick it up a lot easier than most people. and yeah, music theory = sweetness
i taught myself, got a small book of all the different chord fingerings from the library (still have it, they gave up trying to make me pay :p), and went nuts
i learned kinda weird though, i started out with finger picking
i can travis pick like nobody's business, but suck at random other things
