i figure you mean the intro, right? it's actually a really easy lick. go online and read up on "hammer-ons" and "pull-offs" and then get the tab for it. practice for a week and you should have it.

There is no way that 1 is thumb on those chord diagrams. 1 is your index finger, 2 is your middle finger, 3 is your ring finger, and 4 is the pinkie.

ok yes yes 1 is index, 2 is ring. some chords that arent on there require thumb, but can be substitute by a barre

I like how people bitch about tabs vs reading music.

Guess what..

It sounds the same @@

omg

and yeah, if you want to learn it well you can read the tab instantly and listen to the song at the same time.

I can learn a song in 15 minutes with tab and reading music is like learning spanish to eat enchiladas when either way youre pooping what someone else made out

but if someones intersted in making any money off of guitar, they gotta know how to read. so if theyre asked to play a show, they could possibly be handed the music that night and not have to practice by ear, which takes longer.

and guitarists who only read tabs to their fave rock bands can be very talented, but it doesnt make them good musicians

depends on your goal I guess. There is a goal to play the guitar and a goal to be a musician. I think if its going to be a career move its foolish not to be well educated, but if its for sitting on the beach getting drunk most people dont care ;D
