Is this the deal of the century? I emailed them and the price is correct. I currently own a djm600 and 2 cdj1000mk2.

Is the xone as good as the hype? Also i have heard of xone 62 mk1 and mk2. With the mk2 correcting the headphone eq problem? I can't find much info. Can someone, in simple terms explain the cons of this mixer.

Thanks

edit. since posting this storedj.com.au have lowered their price on the xone 62 to $1899, down from $2599. Why the sudden price drop. New model? Problematic? ?????

I don't mind using them, but i much prefer the Pioneers, if not for the effects unit then for the size of the sliders & EQ's.

Whoever designed these isn't the sharpest tool in thed shed however, because if you want to play two channels through the headphones at once, rather than just pressing a cue button on and off like most things, this person decided that it might be cool to make sure that you have to press the buttons both exactly at the same time. Not really that difficult to do once you get used to it, but kinda strange at the same time. All in all i just don't find them that intuitive.

Edit...

IMO i would go for the Pioneer 909 for the same price (just looking at the DMC site). It's two channel, but they're split meaning that you can fit a couple of turntables into your setup as well if you wanted to and you can still use it fine. Phil K gave me a demo of this baby a few years ago and what you can do with it is pretty amazing.

But it all depends on what you're after personally in the end...

dean u would make a great sales rep

the pioneer 909 also has a touch screen and you can customise the effects, would be great to combine with the 2 pioneer cdj's you have

That is a damn fine point right there Teflon!

Mr Millson,

whats your opinion on the DNX-1500 then? Cos thats got the features (most of at least) of the 909, 4 channel, and comes highly rated.
Plus same price or cheaper.

how do you pronounce \"Xone\" is it zone or X one or what?

only continued on from what you started:) the 909 would have to be the best mixer if you knew how to operate it and were comfortable with it to do crazy stuff effect wise, but if you had never used one before it would be very daunting to do anything effect wise. its like a mini computer.

i'm suprised no one has had more to say about the xone series. From reading the dj booth i was made to regret my decision of buying a pioneer mixer over an allen and heath. Now i am being reccomended a pioneer over a xone 62.

I am more than happy with my 3 month old djm 600, but with the xone 62 only $1500, if i sold my 600 for $900-1000, for only 600 bucks i could have, what i was lead to belive was a far superior product.

Thoughts?

well I own both a xone92 and a pioneer djm 600. Personally, I love the 600 for its effects and general novelty value and find it great and easy to use.

Xone 92 is a masterpiece in the sound quality department. Even from a monitoring perspective, you can hear things with more clarity when you're monitoring two sources in your headphones than the somewhat 'distorted or dirty' sound from the djm 600.

The xone 62 I have used many a time out in clubland and everytime I used it, had an equally great time on it, if not better than the 600. Just a more natural sound and I feel on par to the xone 92 in some aspects. I don't really like the layout of the 62 more from its design. but meh, that's me being picky.

You are upgrading from the 600 if you move to the xone 62 in my opinion.

any chance on you stretching for the xone 92? you won't regret it :)

DJ_Ballistic
a&h has the better sound quality over most pioneer mixers supposedly, but i have crap ears and rarely notice the difference in these things.

i have a xone:32 and its awesome
xone:92 would be the way to go, 62 has some extra features over the 32 but most of em are useless for bedroom dj'ing.
or id get the djm800 which zabiela sold me on with his cheesy underwater promo.

the 909 sounds promising though for some reason i get the impression it lacks in the ease of use department

Stretch to the xone 92.... I wish... dmc records have the xone 62 priced lower than the 32. With the 92 at close to 3 grand. For 1500 would i have any regrets at all about buying a xone 62 and losing my djm 600.

Its just a lot of money for a mixer, to a student. Can someone whos been in the same situation as me, or owns a xone 62, reassure or slap me straight.

:)
