Who was the first to use the famous "Supersaw Lead"?! Was it Rank 1 in Superstring? (pg. 4)

Dude. Cygnus X made Superstring. Rank 1 just got involved in the remix and re-release in 2000/1.

Actually, it's neither. Well, technically Ferry did use a multi-tap delay (or maybe just ping-pong, which takes less work), but like most trance producers, he did so ornamentally, not musically. That rhythm was written specifically.

Yup. Superstring was released in 1993. I don't think it used a supersaw specifically, but it came damn close, and five years before it started to show up in its JP-8000 incarnation.

well thats not my point, my point is that Albion - Air doesnt really represent the Supersaw.. it could have been made with about any synth.. |

I know what you mean, but supersaw isn't a style of music or anything, it's just a sound a synth can do. Air didn't use it in the way it become massively popular a couple years later, but it has a supersaw.
So the question remains, who was the first track to use it as a "lead"? |

| far as trance goes, i think oliver lieb used it backin 1993. i found this track, Messiah - thunderdome (spicelab remix). not sure if that\\\'s a supersaw in there though. and may you joke about hip hop having supersaws, but then you prbably never heard of hashim. it came close :P |

Albion - Air was released in 97 i see.. as a B-Side of Albion - Reach For The Sky.. according to Discogs..
