What are some cheesy stuff in the other genres?
Like what is the DnB equivalent of Dj Sammy and Scooter?
Or techno? happy hardcore? |

I thought happy hardcore was nothing but cheese.
And I'm sure a lot of the DnB purists would say Pendulum is the cheese of DnB right now, or comparable to Tiesto in the least. |

But Pendulum are very accomplished musicians where as Tiesto is barely competent. Even if the deebee heads hate Pendulum for having singalong vocals etc. they should give them credit for being able to write orchestral intros and big guitar sections. |

Jungle has jump-up for its cheese... well, that and John B lately. I think that whole 'clownstep' movement may have been given the cheddar label as well.
House? Euro dance, obviously! But that's the good cheese. The bad cheese award goes to 'scouse', or UK Hardhouse, as it's otherwise known.
Techno has no cheese. If something does get cheesy, it's instantly labeled 'not techno', and the matter is closed. End of.
I'm not so sure about breaks. I've never found Florida stuff to be all that clever though. |

and a lot of other schranz, that will take some goofy sound or sample and loop it over hard beetz.
as for the breaks and/or beats, that would be stuff like mid-80's miamig bass in the style of gigolo tony, in which artists were going so far as sampling the theme from sesame street. SMURF ROCK! said i got a girl from alabama, hit her in the head with a ripe banana, uh HUH! |

I think youll find scouse house and UK hardhouse are different. Scouse house is horrible, usually bootlegs of pop tracks. Hardhouse is ok for a limited period of time. Yeah they might share the same oink oink bouncey basslines, but hardhouse is generally better produced and often has at least a little bit of imagination and originality behind it.
Also, Ive never considered John B to be particularly cheesy, Im interested as to why you guys think he is? |
