I think this is a hard group to call, Italy are notorious slow starters in international tournaments, but after the disgrace of euro 2004, surely they wouldn't be so stupid to underestimate teams in this competition. Would they? They have, on paper, the best squad by far in this group, it all depends how paper translates to the park.
ghana for me are the best african team in the world cup, they have players with big game experience who can help the less experienced.
Czech's are not playing as well as they were a few years ago, but are still italy's main threat.
USA I think will finish last, they have had a shambolic run up to the world cup so far, this may work in their favour with teams underestimating them, but I doubt it. |
being here in America i see the NT of US alot. I say they do have alot of potential and when they gel together at times its brillant but they only gel for spells in matches. Most of thier positions are weak maybe 3 of the 11 are quality every match and their goalkeepers are quite a question mark and I still dont believe in their manager.
I agree with you on all 3 other clubs. |

true, although i never put much stock on friendlys right be4 a cup, as evidenced lots of teams really havnt played well, but thats what those games are for.Morocco woke em up, hopefully Claudio Reyna can get healthy, he is important and this team without him is like you say is shambolic haha. |

Okay, this is how its gonna come out
Italy :D
Czech Republic
USA
Ghana
Even though Ghana are the underdogs in this group i still think USA has more experience than them in world cup performances but i'd really love to see Ghana absolutley kill USA :D
Italy should be able to beat all three, the most threat coming by the Czechs and Ghana. They have played USA before so they should really know how to get around them with the solid team they have this year i hope they get through properly not like last wc where they definatley struggled.
Czech Republic have a few dangerous players lying around and they are enough threat to put away some of the big boys. A good midfield and excelent keeper might just be the trick for the Czechs.
I don't know much about the US squad but they are not too bad as some people make them out to be, the problem is that they they're too cocky and think they can win the wc:rolleyes: all in all i don't think they'll get far this year imo. |

I don't know... lol
But serious, you think Czech will make it through?? They rely so much on Nedved and he hasn't been exactly on top form this season... just my opinion. |

| with Nedved or not i believe they're still good, waaaaaaaay better than Ghana or the USA |

They have Petr Cech in goal. Best goalkeeper in the world IMO |

| They don't have to rely on Nedved. They have several other good players. Smicer, Baros, Koller, Cech (GK), Ufajlusi (good defender), Kovac, Jankulovski, Risicky. With players like that they can put away Ghana and USA for dust, also be a threat to Italy :eyes: |
