Its not a gay club, just the clientelle aint as straight as sona / aria. Basically you'll get the same quality of hot girls, but an increased number of gay men. But hey, if that doesn't bother you, I really suggest you check it out. (although I haven't been in 2 years, so i dont know what changed)

Yeah, and apparently Stereo was having progressive nights this summer, but it never caught on..

:D For me all my favorite experiences were at ARIA. Once i went to Tiesto at Sona and there were much much too many people:whip: You couldn't even move but still Tiesto did not disappoint. ARIA is just killer with all the sounds the people the vibe the lights, and if there is one thing bad to be said is like fast said it: the hiphop gangsters.
I'vr heard a lot of good things about Stereo especially with the sound. I've got to go at least once.
How about that new club that was going to open but then closed:the one on Montcalm i've heard they'll re-open ??? Doubt that!

Aria is the better club when they book good trance DJs. When i visited a couple of weeks b4 corsten played, i went to both Aria and Sona and left both venues early cause the music sucked. They were playing annoying techno and it was unbearable. I went to Stereo the following night and was supprised to hear good music. Met a couple of hot chicks( I did get harassed by a few gay guys but i took it as a complement). The only draw back the place is not too big and for some reason gave me the feeling i was in my old H.S. gym for the dance.
To sum it all up. Aria if the DJ is right

Spoutnick, I've seen you say this in several threads, but I couldn't disagree more with you. For me and many others, the DJ and hence the music is only part of the equation that makes my night. Of course, it's the most important part, but my company, the crowd, sound, space to dance, environment, and overall vibe are together equally important.

For instance, last week I went to see Ferry Corsten at the Guvernment and by the sounds of it, my experience was pretty similar to what people had at Sona with Tiesto. Ferry did not disappoint, but I just couldn't enjoy it anywhere near what I could have because of all the bull. Hence, I will not be going to the Guv in two weeks to see Scott Bond, instead I'll check out a local rave with good local talent (plus Hennes and Cold from Germany).

The scene is more than just the music. I can listen to good tunes with great sound and space to dance in my own living room... (and often do, lol :D)

When i i am listening to DJ i find myself ALONE, when i am in the mood nothing will disturb me. If u want to have fun and enjoy the music you just listen and ignor anything else arround you.

Have fun as much as you want just be yourself and forget about the world.

Listen to the Music, Fly High and Serach for the Light.
And if u Find the Light try Reaching IT.

Have nice evenings dude

I try to lose myself in the music and fly high, but just as I'm taking off my engine stalls cuz some big sweaty guy bumped into me for the 20th time that minute, then I crash and have to fix the plane before starting over. Get the picture?

Of course, we all call ourselves tranceaddicts cuz we lose ourselves to this music, but some conditions are more condusive to that than others.

Cheers,

Arctic

This thread was about the clubs not the DJs so i thought i would paint an overall unbiased picture as an outsider since i don't get a chance to frequent these clubs too often( although the pace is picking up).

I only went to Sona once and it was quite an experience. I loved it. I thought people were kidding when they said that the bouncers choose who gets to go in right away based on how you look until I saw it for myself. My friend and I dressed like hoochies that night. God, I haven't dressed like that in ages. I like the raver style better. Can't wait to go back to Montreal. I really want to check out Stereo. Out of Sona, Aria, and Stereo, which is more classier?
