i dunno if you were going experimental or something...

i mean the mixing was solid - no complaints in that department

but i didn't get into it until like track 3... then you lost me for a couple before a semi-strong finish.

i guess the track selection bothered me the most... just... boring! you know?

now i'm not trying to be mean, you know i respect you as a DJ and wish the best for you and the rest of us but to ME and in only MY OPINION this was somewhere around mediocre (however the you spell that)

I can definitely see where you're coming from, and in that case, I think it's really just a matter of personal preference. I was definitely attempting to do something a little different here, and this is a project that I put a lot of effort into (hopefully) sounding a touch different than the majority of house sets out there, and I knew going into it that it wouldn't be everyone's cup of tea.

Thanks for the listen bro, and even more for the honest review - Genuine feedback/criticism, no matter good or bad, is always welcome.

Yeah, Audiofly X is bomb - But that track is kind of a double edged sword. It's got this weird kind of echo on the kick at some points and it souinds like I'm trying to beatmatch and it's off just a hair when in reality the only track playing is "Mind Goes Blank."

Still, solid as hell though - Great track for long mixes/mashups!

hey rob

i don't like this set as much as apologies. starts off too dark and not really that funky. a couple good tracks near the end.

apologies: 8/10
glamorama: 6/10

:(

Well it's ok, I think this tends to happen more as my sound changes and as each new set comes up. With an evolving and changing sound each time, I guess it just becomes more and more difficult to keep fans of older sets interested.

Thanks for the listen and the thoughts Pork!

I'd like to know what exacly did you do? and what software did u use? I saw James Zabiela once, and he was using his laptop alongside the CDJs... unfortunately I coulcn't see what exacly he was doing but it seemed quite interesting... perhaps something Id like to try out someday.

anyway...
I think it's a pretty good set, not as good as "YOUR MOMS HOUSE" which by the way it's one of my fav sets of all time.

Cheers

Mostly just Mixmeister Pro 6 and the CDJ 800's. There were other pices of software used, but they were just for minor alterations and edits to tracks.

It's not a live mix, it was pretty carefully constructed, and took several attempts to get right to where I wanted :)

Wow, these 2 songs just work so well together... it's like when you're rolling face and you smoke a menthol cig!
