oh definitely NOT only mainstream trance...anything pretty much from trance, house, prog, to psychedelic..just not a big fan of the 170+ bpm kind of music(don't really know how to categorize it as per the genre)...i mean damn..that guy who opened for tiesto on the 5th at crobar dropped down a banging set and i don't think most of what he was playing would be considered "mainstream"...an all time favorite of mine is northsky by blackwatch...anybody heard this tune? if so, do you have a full mp3 version of it? coz what i have is the cd rip off of a liveset and it becomes sorta difficult to mix it with other songs... |
OK, I was just asking because the parties that you mentioned were all mainstream trance.
Next weekend is a great weekend to get out, as lots of good stuff is happening (Sasha, Satoshi Tomiie, and James Lavelle @ Crobar and Damian Lazarus and Three @ Love on Friday night and D-Nox and Beckers @ Avalon and Steve Angello @ Pacha on Saturday). There will probably be lots of TAs at any of these events. BTW, Pacha and Avalon are other megaclubs like Crobar or Spirit, while Love's a smaller venue, where it'd be a lot easier to talk to people. |

Welcome =)
With all the different genres you listed, you definitely won't have a prob finding events any night of the week. Sullivan Room is also a good smaller venue to meet people. The weekends there tend to be packed, but Thursdays they've been having breaks, and it's got a nice fun loving crowd. |

| I also highly endorse Cielo and B.E.D. on Thursday nights if you can make it out. I realize you're in Jersey and may have work or school or whatever the next day, but they tend to get some good events and the venues are some of my favorites in the city. Luke Fair is @ B.E.D. later this month. |

Exactly. Just because we don't rock the UFO's anymore, doesn't mean we can't still embrace the philosophy. Club kids these days don't really take to the PLUR anymore though :( Generation gap? |

I think I'd have looked great in a care bear bookbag and an upside down visor, but I'm just not PLUR enough. |

I've still got UFO's and visors you can borrow, if you ever want to go that route. You'd have to get your own stuffed animals and binky though. |

yeah this is one of the things i noticed...the people at the places i have been to were extremely jolly and just friendly overall...and also, going to a 21 over show is much different than going to a 18 over one init?...i mean at crobar there was some classy and posh looking people..both men and women..and i have honestly not seen that many good looking girls at a trance show...is it just coz it was tiesto? coz at spirit when avb was playing there weren't that many...
sometimes a combination of things makes a night memorable even if the dj didn't deliver as expected..if the bartenders are friendly, the bouncers, the crowd as well, the wait time in the line, then you feel good overall i think, and that in combination with a good set just makes one helluva night... |
