Minimal techno is dull as dishwater......among other things Paul Arnold, who runs the longest breakbeat night "Chew The Fat" said....do you agree?

alot of it is , but there remains still a good amount of brilliant tracks in that genre.

John Tejada,John & jesper Dahlback keep things interesting with the minimal beats.Adam Beyer slings alot of minimal.I happen to like some tracks alot.

A lot of what people try to pass of as today's minimal is garbage. But one example of minimal done right is Plastikman's early stuff. I wouldn't say he's completely minimal because he mixes a blend of techno and some acid somtimes, but I think most of his music is gold in my book.

I missed Hawtin and Villalbos play yesterday:mad:

ps. Plastikman is Hawtin;)

I disagree strongly.

Yes there are a lot of dull "minimal" tunes out there, show me a genre without dull tunes tho.

there are still plenty of producers who know how to keep it interesting imo.

If it was such a boring genre, there wouldn't be so many dj's jumping on the bandwagon to play it, maybe that's the problem tho.

im sure if minimal could speak in its defense it would say something like...

"bleep bl0p bleep bl0p bleep bl0p bl0p bleep bloooop"

Good minimal is good minimal, like some stuff (NOT all) from Trentemoller, Martinez, Thomas Schumacher, Sebastien Leger, Wighnomy Brothers, Dominik Eulberg, Paul Kalkbrenner, Hawtin, Villalobos, Oliver Lieb (Solieb) etc etc. 99% of it is , though.

I've heard alot of great minimal from artists outside the ones you mentioned...in fact...most of my favorite minimal stuff does not come from them...

Although I'm pretty sure you were just saying in general :)

One or two minimal tracks are pretty good, but most of it is boring rubbish IMO.
