I can respect you not enjoying the track, but comparing it to "Aftermath" at this point is just a slap in the face.

it sounds nothing like aftermath as far as soundscape goes.

but both tracks are just really repetitive and lackluster. both tracks however, are insanely well mastered, beyond what any normal bedroom producer can do. these guys totally send their tracks off to a mastering house.

it amazes me that tracks like these get so popular and people freak out over them on the dancefloor.

but to each his own.

I really don't see how you can compare the two in the way you are, in my opinion there's no comparison. "Aftermath" was a dancefloor killer because it had one infectious melody to it, and even though it didn't go anywhere or do anything, people liked hearing the track just break all the way down and build back up again. At the end of the day, "Aftermath" was bound to have a relatively short shelf life.

As far as "Gebruenn Gebruenn" is concerned, I can see perhaps criticizing the repetitive percussive section, but IMO it's necessary to frame the rest of the track, which in a lot of ways feels more like a 97-98 era improvised "techno jam" from a Phish set than an EDM production - The introduction of each small element in the rest of the track is, IMO, brilliant. I think it's a perfect set ender/encore - I personally don't want to hear someone drilling my skull with some banging track to end a set. But like you said, to each their own, and I figure I should stop posting anyway since with your next post I'm sure you will "pwn" this "argument" just like any other discussion you take part in here.

I am more fond of the new Paris Hilton production: "Stars Are Blind" than either Aftermath or Gebrunn Gebrunn
