Graham Poll's show yesterday was the lowest point of the competition, but today alone we had 4 serious mistakes:
- wrongly awarded penalty kick to Ukraine
- wrongly non-awarded penalty kick to Tunisia
- wrongly disallowed goal to France
- wrongly allowed goal to Switzerland
Things need to improve for the knockout stage. IMO given the excellent lineup of games, refereeing is the biggest threat to the quality of the competition. |

Allowing the second Switzerland goal was definitely the right decision. The linesman (erroneously) raising his flag doesn't signal the end of the play. The referee saw that the linesman had made a mistake so he let play continue, and then Frei scored. |
